Ok, two options for the venue for the tourney have cropped up. I’ll check them out tomorrow.
Both cost 350$ for the day, so I’ll have to raise the venue fee to 10$.
Innsbrook-
+Closer to food/drink amenties.
+Nicer Part of town
+May have wired internet availible
-only 1400 sq ft availible
Midtown (3600 w broad)
+More space 2068 sq ft
+Closer to previous venue (if people accidentally go)
+Distance makes it easier to move cabinets
+literally right off highway
-Almost nothing nearby in terms of food/amenities (ABC Store!)
-Ugly looking section of town
-Traffic may be worse.
Thoughts? Anyone want to accompany me in scouting the venues tomorrow?

Unless anyone doesn’t wanna drive the extra distance i say go with the innsbrook location. I have to work at 4 so if you want i can come with you for a little while
I’m pretty sure there’s at least 3 to 4 people who are under 21 so it isn’t that bad. Try being the 12 year old getting bodied in MvC2 in the arcades by the 20+ old people.
Also, I’m free after 12 tomorrow to scout venues if you want me to tag along.

I guess you older folks can look at it this way. Old man Valle is 57 and still going in. This is the spitting image of youth. If he can do it, so can you.

Strange matter double booked the venue… So were getting a hotel. Were also looking into moving some of the cabs to the new venue.

Hey Robin, have you checked out Baja Bean? It’s been a while since I have been in there, but I think they have an extra room that is pretty big. They may even have a projector hooked up in there.
River City Rumble this saturday in Richmond, VA!
MvC3, MK9, SSF4.
Due to a double booking at strange matter, we’ve changed venues to a hotel in midtown. We’ll also be bringing Strange Matter’s cabinets for: 3S, MvC2, CvS2, Neo Geo, ST, and Puzzle Fighter. They will be on free play all day. There is also a strong possibility of a tekken 6 tourney. The room we booked is pretty sizable, and should be much more space for tourney and casual games.
