Well the Zero glitch I agree with, but IMO none of the infinites posed enough of a threat to warrant removal.
I’m glad that MK9 is coming out Tuesday because I’m not liking the route MvC3 is taking so far.

i was talking with a friend yesterday about mvc 3. he said: “mvc 3 is my favorite fighting game since ssb64.” i have to say i feel the same way. maybe it’s b/c im not as good as you all yet, but i have not stopped having fun playing this game AT ALL. also, the copy i have is the original release with no updates. sentinel is still a beast–just the way it should be. capcom has pleased me. the only updates i want are ones with new characters.
The main problem I have with X-factor is that it is boring. X-factor totally devalues the hype of any comeback (except in extreme cases) and there will never be comebacks like Justin Wong’s solo cyclops beating yipes with almost a full team of 3 at evo 2k7 as long as a mechanic like x-factor exists in MvC3.
I can KINDA see your point, Robin, and I would agree with you if people can’t play Haggar/Hsien Ko/Tron for shit other than abusing their assists. And while I certainly abuse the fuck out of them, I’d say I’m at least getting more competent with Mike and Tron if they have to be out there. They are a crutch in the same way Psylocke and CapCom were crutches in MvC2. Godlike assists but meh characters. Tell me I’m wrong. Before the game came out I wanted Tron on my team. I can’t help that her assist is ree-dick-u-lous. Haggar is pretty damn fun too. (Thanks, Chris, for the tips)
As far as the current topic goes, X-factor… sigh… there’s a love-hate relationship going on with me and X-factor. I love it when my last guy takes out three characters but I get severely butthurt when it’s vice-versa and my team gets obliterated by somebody X’d up. What can you do though? It’s part of the game and people will just have to deal. Zero glitch was funny while it lasted.
I’ll add this too. Chris, you have such a strange, excited playstyle in Marvel. This man will X up Chris on point just to save him from getting punished for a wiffed Level 3. Sometimes it pays off for you, but man, you proteck ya neck a little too hard in some matches.
Tomorrow we’ll be partyin’ partyin’ (YEAH!) partyin’ partyin’ (YEAH!) :bottle:
Fun fun fun fun fun fun
what can I say…i dont like nobody dying on my watch!!!and i agree with colin i have a love hate realationship with x factor…its neat and has great combo applications…but lvl 3 is over the top…but the game is a blast to play…its only been out for a month too…lets see what happens 6 months from now hell even 2 years from now…i dont think capcom will change much more in the game…if anything the time on x factor needs to be reduced…thats it oh and i cannot wait for MK9 stryker all the way…oh and im going ps3 cuz i wanna play that kratos too son!!!
At the gamestop i work at we are doing a tourny on Monday night i think around nine. Winner gets a gift card and a free copy will be raffled off to those who reserved it.
Im in Atlanta all weekend, so Im going to miss the cook out. Pretty bummed. It sounds like it will be a ton of fun. MK9 is alot of fun! The single player is done really well. Capcom is going to be on blast
Super Marvel?!?
God damn, I really hate capcom sometimes. I really don’t like MK9 that much though. Where you at SNK? I need my Kof13.
I really cannot trust Capcom anymore.
They have contradicted themselves way too many times.
I plan on being in Richmond this monday, anyone not doing anything and can lemme come over and game it up with them?!?
P.S. Oh and Anthony, I still dont know how to block -_-
Yeah I would much rather have Capcom just keep feeding us DLC along the way, but there’s so much shit lacking from that game that a “Super” version is inevitable at this point.
Oh well, if this is really true, I want to see an explosion of new characters, modes, FIXED ONLINE, and more. I’m excited to see what they’re going to bring to table with this one, though.
well hope you guys had fun yesterday…haven been feelig too hot these last couple of days…sorry i missed it…
but to keep up with the convo…its not just capcom its the entire industry…because of the ease and access of online and the technology today…developers can take the easy route and put out games early and fix them as they go…its a lazy approach considering that games are more expensive than ever…i personally love MVC3 but i think the game was rushed…for all we know this has been the plan all along…but i agree with matt when he says capcom should let a metagame develop and maybe patch accordingly…but all across the board the golden years for fighting games was over when sf4 came out…and the idea of super marvel is the dumbest thing since greedo shooting first…its like we are paying 40-60 dollars for the beta…then paying another full price for the full version…cough cough…street fighter 4…I for one will play marvel 3 until the game dies…or the scene here stops…i wanna get into mortal kombat…but people here are already not liking the game so im kind of torn…i guess we should all start playing wwe all stars…im gonna go back to bed…im sick as shit…
Well, unfortunately the times have changed for fighting games.
Back in the day, it was an arcade release, and as long as that made money and operators bought the machines, it was all golden. home releases were secondary.
now, with arcades dead, the primary method of getting yo money is buying the disc based game and DLC.
To be honest though, Super came with 10 new characters, 25 new ultras and only managed to cost 40$.
If capcom does a similar take with this, expect in the realm of 12-15 new characters and new gameplay modes.
It’s kind of hilarious that Capcom’s premier 1v1 fighter SSFIVAE has more characters (43) than the 3v3 fighter (38 currently).
I lost my phone yesterday. Somewhere between gathering my stuff to leave justins, and getting back to my house.
If you find it let me know. On here or call 426-8490
Rigorously checked the couch cushions and I didn’t see it. You did leave your hat over here though and I’ll bring it to the Ranbats on Thursday. Hopefully it will turn up and I’ll let you know if I find it.
I don’t mind the DLC or the Version Updates as a business model because if it generates revenue for the company they are going to produce a higher quality product then if it wasn’t generating revenue. The fighting game community and meta-game is dynamic and changes enough where a $60 one and done purchase isnt going to make people who aren’t hard core fighting game players play a game for 3 years which is how long SF4 has been and is still going strong. I think that Noob, Scrub, Mediocre, Solid, and Top level players are all required for the fighting game community to succeed and I think spacing out the content keeps a lot of people interested who wouldn’t otherwise be.
And then there’s Capcom…
DLC is awesome,
A few places online are saying BBCS II is going to drop on 3DS and PSP on the same date which is either May 24 or May 31 depending where you check. Anyone heard anything on the portable version?
