I’ll support you guys if you try and run tournaments, Its just pretty hard down here from what I’ve seen with the Fall River tournaments these last few months.
Yay finally a RI scene.
I am also down for fightnights or tourneys or whatever game you want to throw at me.
All I would say is swap skullgirls for either tekken6 or brawl. Just because skullgirls is the type of game that will have more of a crossover with the games on sat. Skullgirl players are probably gona be people who have been playing marvel or like SF with it on the other day it will cut some entries from the guys who would have entered it but it would be the only thing they would enter if they went on friday.
and also i went on the ricks website and they said 5 dollar hour passes or 15 for a day. What are we gonna have to play to use the venue to play tourneys, cuz if its 15 venue fee then its probably a no thank you from me and a few other guys. All that said i hope this works out for you and ill be through to check it out for the first marvel tourney you throw
I Got This, stay tuned for more later tonight.
$20 on gas getting to the venue is nothing, but $15 venue fee is too much?

LOL bro its RI!
even if it was across the entire state it wouldnt be 20 in gas with gas prices being ridiculous. More like 5 in gas. And cmon man you know the cash to enter tourneys isnt a big deal to me I’m one of the guys who drives far off to enter tourneys (atleast 1hr for every tourney ever basically) and test my stuff
and 15 bux for a venue that will just be on par with all the other venue’s running tourneys at 5 dollar venue fee makes it too much. but its a moot point cuz xavier just posted saying it would be 5 dollar venue fee.
This venue would actually be worth $10 or $15 dollars just saying… Its not like most venues at all.
All they really need is computers =P
So anyone planning to come this Saturday?
I might be able to come. FRL is apparently hosting this Saturday too.
FRL?
I’m not sure if I should go to your tournament (or is it casuals?) or FRL’s casuals. Depends on who’s going to which I guess. Or maybe we can move the dates around or something?
Im just curious why do you think it would be worth $10 or $15 venue fee? I’m not trying to be a dick but every venue other than majors just charge $5 fee to play considering everybody brings their own sticks for the most part.
I think Paul Wall’s and Hayato’s tournaments had $10 venue fee, and they definitely weren’t classified as majors.
Yeah, a 5-dollar venue fee is more the standard, especially when you’re just starting out.
This is not the cheapness talking, this is the realness talking.
Pretty sure Wall’s didn’t. (could have forgotten though.) Hayato’s definitely doesn’t have $10 venue.
They really got you shaken up about this venue fee huh Will? Haha. I know you aren’t kidding cuz i was right there when you walked out of Button Mashers because you didn’t like the money situation. Trust me i won the AE tournament and i left with only double the tournament fee…=/ lol. Anyway as far as a $15 dollar venue fee goes, if it was a nice venue and enough competitive players were there i don’t think i would mind paying it. However most of the time in RI that is hardly the case making the $15 dollars a steep rate. All the games you want to play and the varied list is great Xavier, however i think you are in a little over your head. What will happen is you will end up with Street Fighter and Marvel. With that being said, i think it would of been smarter for yourself and better for the players if you started with a small venue fee. I think this would attract more people and help build the community. Otherwise, if you are just doing it for the money i don’t think it is going to benefit you as much as you would like. Just my two cents.
So is there a tournament at this place in Johnston or is it just casuals? Big difference imo.
