Wow what a dickwad. Confirming c.mk into sa1 is super difficult. I don’t know of any top akuma players who can do it reliably.
As soon as you fill enough gauge for 1 SA, your opponent shouldn’t be able to jump at you at any time, I also never saw any cl.mk, SA1, c.lk, c.lk xx SA1
and stop trying to demon your opponents every single time!!! you did fail most of the time…
I figured he kept missing RD because of the stick.
demons off the flip were caused by the stick. but demons of off c.lk were my fault i guess - too impatient. cl mk into sa1 and c.lk c.lk >sa1 i don’t do much cause i always try to demon when i’m playing casuals so it’s a bad habit even tho this is probaly the easiest way to land a super (i do it with ken tho all the time, well not the cl mk obviously). we’re playing some casuals this weekend and we’re gonna record em so i’ll post it up.
p.s. anybody feel i should be doing more flips?
It’s hard to get the hang out demon flips, cause trying to use them can kind of blow up in your face, especially against shotos. Do what you feel comfortable with. With that said, landing sa1’s is easier and more practical than demons. It makes akumas game more versatile. Focus on those for a while.
There was one point you had full stock and did lk hurricane into something or other. I would have gone for jab KKZ. I don’t see this very much, so maybe I’m wrong to think that way?
Also, you might not have realized that you had full stock. In which case there isn’t much you could have done.
Another thing you may or may not want to work on is UOH into super. Honestly, I’ve pulled it off twice in my 3S career, so I’m not going to berate you if you decide to concentrate on something else, but it definitely gives Akuma the option overhead into super.
i do uoh’s into supers plenty i don’t really remember if i did it on these vids tho.
I think a lot of people don’t go for it often because its difficult. Yuki missed it in SBO
Also, to expand upon the demon flip thing, you can get along pretty well with using them infrequently. Nomoto doesn’t use demon flips as much as Jiro or Yuki, and he’s very solid.
kkz resets are a total waste of meter imo, just combo into sa1.
uoh super with akuma is generally impractical because of how slow akuma’s fireball super is.
akuma doesn’t need an overhead into super to land his supers. he has high and low hit confirms.
uoh and f+mp are good sometimes just to mix up randomly on wakeup, but generally akuma has better options.
I’ve been tripping balls off of this for a couple days now.
Meh, people should just ignore my advice and I should stop giving it. I don’t play Akuma that much anyway. :shake:
RD Looks cool? Yeah. is it that good? No, like a FAQ i was reading some time ago.
RD its fast, its damaging, its unblockable, don’t ever use it, good players are also fast, damaging and unblockable
Thats exageration, as don’t ever use it, theres times where I would go for a RD, which is I won the first round, and im over 50% health in the second.
Im about to die and lose the match and my oponent its at 50% health.
But thats about it, you did tons, and i mean, tons of c.fwd into fwd tatsu, 1 or 2 of those into SA I and the match was yours.
1.- Its good damage
2.- Usually people gets a little desperate when they just got super’d, and thats your chance to land a BnB for a little more damage.
3.- If people don’t see you using your S.A. for exactly that, they wont get scared and they will rush you fast and furious.
4.- Mix up your flips, you were asking to get a fierce shoryu everytime you flipped at Ken.
5.- Play more footsies, specially with chars that can’t punish at max distance, like Alex, well he can, but you won’t eat a super, you know.
6.- Play a lot more footsies against Ken, yes, he can punish, but your footsies are just as good as his, and you have to put in the fear that you can punish his c.fwd with your own c.fwd SA I
I think that’s pretty much it. Some little advices, you see what you’ll take into your game and what not, but sure you could use some adjustments
Keep up the GW
A lot of people are ragging on your RD sets ups. I guess I want to ask are you going for just random demon, or random Kara-Demon?
That’s a real exaggeration. Ken can confirm things much easier than Akuma.
Ken’s footsies are better because:
at long range low forward doesn’t have much use for akuma compared to Ken. Plus Ken is faster, and by statistics alone, akuma will die quicker in a game based on cr.mk
he can reversal super HP and mk which Akuma can’t.
Ken’s standing HK and mk and far mp which can be confirmed.
Akuma needs Ken to be standing to do any real damage from outside throw range. No such restriction for Ken
On a different note:
Reset KKZ is the best combo to do with two stocks if you have them near the corner and they have a bit of stun.
UOH super with Akuma is actually quite important because from that range, theres no reason whatsoever otherwise to block high.
Demon flips are proving to be more of a grey area to me the more I use them. Its a lot to do with conditioning. Today I was owning people more than usual and I think it was based off how I used the flip. I would use it the most after knockdowns to just ambiguously cross people. After a point I saw that people would either resort to blocking or jumping away when they saw a flip - and that probably explains why the empty flip demon is INCREDIBLY USEFUL. I landed it more often than not in Japan, but I never really gave much thought as to WHY people were falling for it.
The very best one which happened tonight while I’m on a 9 win streak and about to go for my tenth - I’m about to die, Chun has about 65-70% health, and I’m cornered. Chun stays just out of kara throw range and goes for oddly timed low mk or standing mp. So not easy for me to outpoke or parry and grab. I go for the empty lk flip demon. Chun walks under the flip and goes for back fierce which is when the demon comes out. And kills her completely. C4 was WELL pissed…
I got taken out at 14 wins by a newbie using Sean. Seriously…
