Man that made me laugh.
SNES was built for RPGs, if you are looking for retro 16 bit RPGs look no further.
The Final Fantasy series (except for mystic quest which is horrendous), Dragon Warrior/Quest, Lufia series, SaGa Series, Chrono Trigger, D&D Eye of the Beholder, Earthbound, 7th Saga, Breath of Fire 1 and 2, Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, Front Mission
There also tons of RPGs that never got a US release on the SNES, Star Ocean, Bahamut Lagoon, The Sailor Moon RPG (no it is seriously good), Tales of Phantasia, Magic Knight RayEarth, Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together (not to be confused with Ogre Battle) which is later ported to PS1 and PSP, Seiken Densetsu 3 (Legend of Mana sequel), the Start of the Megami Tensei Series and a whole lot other games I am missing here.
To be fair the Genesis did have some gems when it comes to RPGs, it lacked the beautiful color pallet the SNES had, but their RPGs made it up in Gameplay and story.
The Shining Series, The Phantasy Star Series, Dragon Slayer Series, Langrisser Series, Gauntlet IV, Landstalker, Dungeons & Dragons: Warriors of the Eternal Sun, Sega CD had the Lunar series
And in my humble opinion the PS1 was the last great console to have some great RPGs.
Wild Arms, The Remake of the Lunar series, Arc the Lad Collection, Super Robot Wars Alpha, Xenogears, Breath of Fire 3 and 4, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Grandia, Valkyrie Profile
