Do NOT use a resistor. Short it with a wire, use a PTC fuse, or find a suitable fuse. Do not use a resistor.
I recently broke my controller port by blowing the F1 fusing resistor.
I don’t know if I’m allowed to initiate a group buy or how that works on this site but I did find a quote for the right piece (0.39 Ohms, 1/4 Watt) for $0.63/resistor with a minimum order of 200 pieces (making a total order of $126).
Otherwise, I found Mouser’s 594-NFR25H0001008JA5: 1/2 Watt, 1 Ohm (yielding 700 mA by P=I^2 R) vs. the original spec 1/4 Watt, 0.39 Ohm (yielding 800 mA).
I plan on ordering from Mouser but if people would like to start a group buy for the right part instead I can either pass on the info or start it up myself.
Thanks,
Cody
It is indeed a =fused resistor=, as in a resistor designed to blow like a fuse when it suffers an overload. The resistance value varies from dreamcast to dreamcast, but from what I’ve read it’s 4.9 ohms. Shorting it is going to do very interesting things to your system.

The markings on the resistor are as Toodles said, but when I measured an isolated intact one, I got 11 ohms. Something is screwy here.
