Resident Evil (Questions & Discussions) Thread

Huh. Yeah, I’ve never seen that before, but that’s probably because I’ve never let them get that close to me.

And yeah, the Garridor didn’t scare me. But he most certainly did startle me when he came charging at me the first time. I didn’t even notice the bells during after the first few times of having body impaled and my head cut off.

but I love to take the chicago and just shoot at his nutts till he dies.

but that part does suck just to get the clock or whatever.

Damn all that. The one part that had me on edge was when you get deeper into the castle and you go into this room and this cage comes down and drops in some Los Illuminados guys and a fuckin Garridor.

Bought the RE2 for the GC about two months ago and it’s still everything I remember it to be. Jumped once or twice which surprised me since I know the game up and down, guess that gives credit to its timelessness. After 10 play-throughs it does start to lose it’s luster again. I’m also gonna revise my opinion on the crossbow. Yes it’s still an ass weapon but it’s somewhat useful, you just have to aim right. I’d reserve grenade, acid, and fire rounds for more important enemies, you can pretty much go wild with the crossbow on zombies.

Crossbow is awesome at short range.

I’ve beaten every RE game except dead aim, outbreak, and outbreak#2 (all of which I heard were terrible) but I still can’t make sense of the chronological order of things with all the retconning going on. Can someone list the games in chronological order and weed out what’s canon and what’s not?

Or I can just ignore the storyline of all the re games and just go back to re: survivor:wonder:

RE0
RE1
RE2&RE3 both take place at the same time just with different characters
RE:Code Veronica
RE4
RE5

Umbrella Chronicles elaborates on the stories from the Above games sans RE4 and Code Veronica. You get a side story on what happened to Ada in the RE2 mission with her getting a sample to Wesker and the final mission in the game takes place I believe after Code Veronica with Umbrella getting put down permanently.

Resident Evil 0
Resident Evil 1
Resident Evil 3 1st part(Pre Jill getting infected by Nemesis)
Resident Evil 2
Resident Evil 3 2nd part(After Jill wakes up)
Resident Evil:Code Veronica
Resident Evil 4
Resident Evil 5

I guess you could add some of the Umbrella Chronicles events inbetween Code Veronica and 4.

Not trying to be a dick or anything but how can you have beaten every (major) RE game and not know the chronological order? Besides the fact that there is # after each title.

Every major RE game has run concurrent to the previous game in order. Now I would be confused if I played Outbreak and Dead Aim myself. Outbreak happens during the events of RE2 and 3, right? Because it’s all Raccoon City survivors? Outbreak though, I have no idea.

So, I just finished REMake. Just started off a fresh game, and either my skills have improved or I was playing on easy mode. By the time I had my final fight against the Tyrant, I had like 128 9mm rounds, over 40 shotgun rounds and 24 magnum rounds. I had a ridiculous amount of herb mixes and like 9 first-aid sprays.

Tell ya what though, it certainly would have more difficult if it weren’t for the lighter/kerosene addition. I loved that corpse burning concept and the red death zombies. *Freak me the fuck out! *

What? I’ve heard of knife runs in RE games but not REMake. That’s insane and what a waste of time. You let me know how that goes, okay?

Agh! So I played and almost finished RE3 today - my least favorite chapter in the series. I didn’t do too bad except for getting lost often (damn Raccoon city is huge) and that stupid water pressure puzzle near the end. I went through like seven different FAQS for the correct process until I found one that matched my own - stupid randomization puzzles.

And I’m sorry to confess this but I suck at the last fight against Nemesis. I was able to hit the stupid release lever once before he kept tossing me around and killed me. I turned off the auto-aim as well but I just couldn’t seem to target them so I just quit. Fuck it, it’s a stupid fight anyways.

And talk about a game with ammo issues. Played that shit on easy mode and I had ammo coming out my ass. I know it’s different on hard mode but I don’t like this game enough to bother.

Dude, freeze rounds own the nemesis for free. But I do concur that the valves are a bitch to hit, I remember shooting at the valves general direction with a machine once and got nothing. Don’t know the differences the GC version might have but I know the games gives you the magnum with 20 or so bullets on easy mode.

YOO i dont know if im late but…i got off of work a lil early to pic up this rpg for 360 that just dropped and i asked dude if they were taking pre-orders for RE5 yet and he said, “YES!”

So get to it srk. I just preorderd the limited edition that comes with a copy of the cg movie

Damn already? I need to jump on this asap.

yup…according to their database it comes out the day afte GOW3, mar 1st.

Wow I am going to be broke 2009.

Uh oh, looks like there’s yet another new version of RE4 on the way. It’s Wang-Tastic!

Found this lionk in the TGS’08 thread, ya gotta see this shit!

Damn Wesker ain’t fuckin around. I would’ve thought Chris could take on Wesker somewhat with his beefier look. Oh well. Game is gonna be epic as hell.

did anyone else get that DMC4 feel with the song that was playing towards the end of the trailer?

Plus Jill Valentine’s name on a headstone? is she dead?

That trailer was quite nice. I hope they aren’t afraid of the to of them falling in love at the end. And not in a cheesy way either.
