No, I mean, for example, Dead Rising 2 offers only online co-op, meaning I can only play with someone through XBL. I don’t want to do that, because I’ll end up with someone who doesn’t know what to do, and I can’t access the next area without them because they’re wasting time fighting zombies, meaning I have to waste my reserved tools on a bunch of zombies and fend them off until my partner stops being a stupid twat.
I think they’re referring to the army-esque elements in his scenario, and this is Chris we’re talking about, meaning he’s all patriotic and what not, or better said, a robot boy scout.
Sherry and Jake’s scenario is very heavy on the action, and lacked a good amount of horror, which makes it seem a bit boring from a viewer’s perspective, so that’s one thing that I can point to understand why people don’t like this game. Plus, what exactly are J’avo? And why does this game seems so short? I am now realizing the lack of survival-horror in this game.
Chris’ campagin would be oh so much better if it were 100% open spaces. Having to waddle through narrow corridors against fast enemies with this camera is pretty annoying.
That being said, I don’t see what’s so bad about it. Sure, it ain’t nowhere near as good as Leon’s campaign, but people were making it out like the anti-christ of video games. It’s okay and once chapter 3 kicks in it becomes really enjoyable.
Apparently RE6 IS the anti-Christ according to general consensus. As others have said, its a love it or hate it game. But honestly people had 6 years to get over the survival horror aspect being gone. The only thing I can truly say about the game is that it is trying to cater to a lot of people across the board.
o_O There were puzzles in RE 5? I’m willing to bet that shit wasn’t even difficult when they tested it.
More importantly, this is the dude that worked on Zack and Wiki. Outside of the one in Ada’s campaign, how in the hell could they even consider the stuff in RE 6 puzzles?
Let that man live and add some shit that takes thought again.
So the director is calling the genre “horror entertainment” now? 1. Wheres the horror? Why even call it horror? Theres a difference between having some monsters and the experiance being horror. Atmosphere for one and… 2. How can a franchise so established just dramatically up and change genres? Imagine if Street Fighter 5 was an rpg - “Theres still a form of fighting there…” or if CoD turned into a flying game like Desert Strike - “Whats the problem, you like getting chopper killstreaks?..” Trying to appeal to everyone everywhere has never worked for anything anywhere. Especially when the force driving the creation is the dollar signs in developers eyes and not the artistic integrity of the project.
This guy basically said North Americans had trouble with the puzzles so they pulled them back and simplified the few they left in. i guess that post above was right. They do think of us as idiots.
I LOVE fixed camera angles/pre rendered backgrounds. But we’re not gonna get anything like that till maybe next gen. I think the FF series will never return to fame until they bring back pre rendered backgrounds
on the bright side VR and AR will save us! Imagine an Augmented Reality Pokemon game :wonder:
Horror entertainment explains a lot about RE6. Its a fucking diluted market that is already beaten to death and that explains why RE6 feels like ‘some old shit.’ Ive finished the game now, it is 99% Hollywood Horror. Lacks all build up and has a tension to minutes ratio that is almost non existant compared to what you would hope for. Ive completed the game, I died so much more not pressing X or R1 on time than I did in actual free roaming, if you can get away with calling what is predominantly an A to B game that.
The opening of the game set the tone for me. First I questioned why shit had already hit the fan before I even KNEW what was going on. I thought I was dragging the unwanted ball and chain through the building when I realised just holding up on the analogue stick would navigate the entire area for me. QTE’s for opening doors, on foot sat navs for exploring, if you can call it exploring. Its just a giant dissapointment that lacked focus, back story and story - throughout. On the opening scenes again, I had more fun wasting my ammo aiming at the ball and chain than I did soaking up the bullshit Capcom had dumped on to the game disc. You replay the same ass areas with multiple characters, no build up, no tension, no reason to give a shit other than running around picking up skill points off of the enemies. Enemies you can now kill easier in places with your bare hands than needing weapons. They fucked EVERYTHING up on this game. Even the weapons system, it was bullshit like that that carried a lot of 5 and a smaller amount of 4.
Its more a Dark Sector/Army of 2/whatever that Ninja game was that was a fuckmash of QTE’s from 3-4 years ago. Its the bastard child of those 10 a penny games.
Only way Im going back is with a faithful reboot, and Id be weary as fuck by the time it got around to the 4-5 mark. Im really not sure they’d have the balls to release a 7 after this.
Hardcore action titles easily expose themselves in gameplay trailers alone. Seeing one gameplay trailer of GoW,Ninja Gaiden,DMC or Bayonetta you know what you are getting yourself into. I’ve been pretty on point in my predictions when analyzing trailers from a gameplay perspective in this genre. There is nothing in the DmC trailers that stand out as impressive, thus my comments on the game being mediocre. Unless DmC turned into an RPG or something the main reason to play it is combat. Of course there are a few long time DMC fans that like what they see and more power to them.
Deep down if the game turned out to be great I’d be happy. Devs need to eat and it’s not their fault Capcom offered them this series. If I worked for Ninja Theory I’d be really sad, seeing all these fans shit on my hardwork. Sadly there hasn’t been anything shown that screams must get. A lot of amazing games in 2013 and DmC doesn’t really stand out.
To forsake ones accurate perceptions for the sake of being politically correct isn’t being open minded or accepting.
If Valaris has to watch the thread that is a sad day for SRK. Peeps that butt hurt about opinions different than theirs they need to call Batman? What would the Joker think of all this? Who is GD’s Joker anyway?
On the topic of RE6 Horror Entertainment:
I find this statement funny because Team Ninja used the same gimmick for DOA5. They called the game “fighting game entertainment” it is a way to lower expectations. I hear DOA5 is the best in the series which is pretty surprising.
