Next week. The Dragon’s Dogma demo is out however and has been since May for Xbox and last week for PS3. Luckily next week’s demo is of a later build and is available on both consoles.
Can’t wait to practice the demo for Mercs Training.
As a diehard RE fan I still haven’t played 5 and have about as much motive to play 6…RE is just not a big deal to me anymore. Even though RE4 was my favorite, it looks like 6 is pushing it over the limit. Is it futile to hope 6 is even a tiny bit creepy?
I feel like Leon’s campaign is gonna be shooting for the creepy/scary vibe. Chris is going to be Gears of Roids and Wesker’s kid will be White, Shaved-Headed Action Hero Game Number Whatever
No. And please no one come in here and try and save the day by citing Leon’s campaign. HE CAN DUAL WIELD PISTOLS AND DIVE ONTO HIS BACK. < Not creepy. Even if he has less ammo and it’s dark as eff and there are zombies and magical undead everywhere it still won’t be as creepy as the older games.
So I’m not even going to try and convince you Orochi. If a RE with cover, advanced melee, and great dodging mechanics isn’t your cup of tea then yes you need to stay away from RE6.
OOPS LOL
Full disclosure: I have actively avoided all footage of RE6 since it was announced, all I’ve seen was that announcement trailer of Leon sliding and running around the city with some explosions so I’m clueless as to what RE6 is like because I might play it someday so I’m keeping myself spoiler free.
I’ve said it a thousand times and I’ll say it again. It was really the controls and camera angles of the older RE games that made them even slightly creepy. It hasn’t been creepy since RE4, it will never be again.
Oh ok. What I said still stands though. If you avoided 5 like the plague you need to avoid this one like the planet is on fire.
Leon’s campaign is supposed to be the most back to roots one of the four campaigns in the game but even when you are out of ammo you won’t be completely defenseless. The melee in this game is unlike any system in any recent third person shooter. You can pull knives and axes out of zombies and hit them in the head (the timing has to be right but trust me it won’t be hard after a couple of tries), which triggers the good ol’ stun animation which means it’s time for some more devastating melee moves that can push back other enemies/outright kill the one you are attacking. And if that sucker doesn’t die then a simple head stomp is all that is needed to finish the baddie off. You mix that in with being able to dodge and lay on your back which let’s you continue shooting and scoot around on the floor then you have one of the most capable REs ever thus really diminishing the creepy factor. I mean there will still be jumpy moments and nasty bosses but I don’t even think this game will be as creepy as RE5’s DLC Lost in the Nightmare was.
Yes the melee is regulated by a stamina meter but after watching a lot of mercs gameplay this is no reason for you to playing that haphazardly.
RE5 and 6 aren’t high on my back log by the time I get 6 it will be $20. I still didn’t buy Revelations but judging from the demo I’d rather play that.
I heard that this game is gonna have 3 mutiplayer modes as on disc DLC. This true? If so what are the modes?
EDIT: Just looked this shit up. Articles I read mentioned it being post-release DLC. We’ll see.
A few more weeks…can’t wait. I’m taking that day off too. Have one of my subordinates run the show for a few days
Sent from the next dimension using saiyantalk…
The Dogma demo definitely boosted my interest in this game. Before, I had just planned on picking it up to go through the motions/see the story/etc. Now I’m actually looking forward to playing it.
I liked 4 & 5, but the control scheme for both still felt rather antiquated to me. From what I’ve seen of the demo, things are getting more streamlined. Demo camera better get fixed though.
Yeah, I’ve heard that too, but considering the only multiplayer most people care about is Mercs and we have that already, I’m not sweating it too much. Can’t honestly think of too much that would actually have me be annoyed by that. I wasn’t even feeling Vs. in RE5 either so…yeah.
Same here. Mercs is the only multiplayer mode I care about. I’m sure someone out there will bitch about Capcom selling multiplayer as DLC but to be perfectly honest, I’m ok with it. I’m fine with a pay as you go model.
versus mode in RE5 was paid DLC as well and there was a big kick off about that too. it was on the disc as well.
personally im not arsed about paying extra for it. i would have played it if it wasnt DLC though.
Any word on when the Damnation movie comes out?? Seem like it should be soon considering it takes place before RE6 and 6 is only a few weeks away
whats with the shitty music o_O
I dont like how those things turn into gold dust after you kill them. WHY?
25th of this month*,* I think its already available on Zune though
Mercs always has cheesy techno. It needs more of a variety I’ll give you that. And the instant gold dusting is probably due to a technical limitation. Dark Souls this ain’t (in Dark Souls your enemy bodies just lay there until you are so far from the area that it is forced to reload or you save refill your health a checkpoint which revives everything).
