I won that last tournament with a hang over and with a controller lol. Watched about 20 Momochi videos with setups along with tons of practice with locals.
Pretty good turnout too. I’d say about 15+ people?
Akuma combos all day, except my rough matches were against Blanka and a Vega.
Blanka was semi-finals. Lots of runaway, comeback and mix-up game, good player.
Vega was grand-finals. His wall mix-up became FADC practice then combo time
Waiting for them to announce a SSF4 tourney so I can see the ‘good’ locals.
I might go, just to beat up on people with my new crew of characters and hopefully get enough money to buy Fist of the North Star Musuo. Bison matches against any one who doesn’t know how to handle pressure lasts about 20 seconds. It’s sad, Akuma v Bison is one of my favorite matches to play, yet Dug and Carlos stopped using him. One mistake, KO! Same reason I don’t use seth anymore lol
Just an FYI for anyone attending who might care, but I was talking to the clerk while signing up last week, and he said they were going to have some 3rd Strike casuals going on for about an hour prior to starting this Sunday.
Nice of them to call people up and remind us about the tourney info. The rep said there were a lot of people signed up, and that they would probably do best of 5 round single elimination until there are about 8 players left. They will be providing standard controllers but we can use our own. It will be played on the Xbox360. I left my stick in Seattle so I’ll be trying to bum whatever I can off of people tomorrow.
So the tournament was Free Entry, so non-serious formats were being used. To start: 3/5 rounds, 2/3 games per match, Single Elim.
After we got to Quarter-finals, they got a call saying they needed to GTFO the store and kick people out soon so they switched it to 3/5 Rounds, Best of 1 game per match for Quarters -> Grand

It was fun, you and Bokkin destroyed. I’ve been on a 2 day recovery from about a 3-month hiatus lol. It was nice to see really high-end players from WA, it’s seldom seen in this part of WA.
