I agree that of all the Republican candidates, Rand Paul was definitely the best choice. If he had stayed closer to his true libertarian roots instead of trying to play the same game all the other idiots were trying which was to out-Trump Trump, he wouldāve had a much better shot. His foreign policy stance was great, and he had some interesting domestic policy stances as well. His economic policies were kinda shitty but thatās mainly the flaw with trying to be laissez-faire when crony capitalism exists.
He lost when he did that whole fighter jet stunt. Thatās when his supporters abandoned him as he seemed like a guy who would pander to whoever for a vote. Far cry from his father.
The funny thing is thatās what he needs to do of he wants to win. His dad never won because his economic policies would result in shit social realities.
To an extent yes. The only thing I can really get behind that he advocates is free trade. Iām not so sure about his foreign policy ideas either tbh
The only potentially competent candidates in the race by Iowa were Paul, OāMalley, Kasich, and Sanders. Marco is a record player trying to pass off as the second coming of Ronald Reagan, Cruz is a god damn maniac who would turn the US military into a better-funded ISIS in the name of counter-terrorism (and is probably the Zodiac Killer), Trump just acts too impulsively to be a civil leader, and Hillary lies more than the previous 3 combined.
Iām not against Trump because of all the media attacks. Iām against him because I donāt agree with his politics. I donāt like a lot of his ideas and he hasnāt really been clear on a lot of things. IMO government will grow under Trump which is the problem imo. I feel the power of the presidency will be abused even more than what previous presidents have done.
Iāve listened to Trump live on the radio talking about gun control and etc but now heās Mr 2nd amendment. heās just changed on way too many issues overnight for me to even trust him. I have no idea what this man will actually do if he gets into the white house. The fgact that it looks like we only have him and Hilary to choose from is pretty scary and just shows how shit the 2 party system really is.
The only character trait I would really say should matter is the fact that he used a bogus medical reason to disqualify himself from the the Vietnam draft. Heās always talking about how heās for the vets but wasnāt with them when he had too much to lose to go to Vietnam. I donāt agree with the war but a lot of young kids were pretty much forced to go but because heās rich he got out of it.
