Replacement Themes for Enhanced Browsing Pleasure

don’t wanna sound like a scrub or anything, but is there any chance that you will make an SRK 09 skin? i thought it looked fancy, and gives me the nostalgic feeling of the dark years.<div><br></div><div>waiting for flames </div> X_X

yeah, i thought it was pretty obvious seeing as how almost everyone knows what the 09 skin was like

I was here in 09 and barely remember that scheme. If everyone remembers it I really suck. I was probably using blue steel at the time.

<div class=“QuoteText”><code>.Rank-Mod { color: #FF0000 !important; }</code><br>Will make the “mod” label under the user’s picture red so you might actually notice it.  (Now only if I could make it “Mod” or something instead, all-lowercase is bugging the hell out of me now that it’s red.)<br></div>

Make that<br><pre>.Rank-Mod, .Rank-Admin { color: #FF0000 !important; }</pre>if you want to spot the cops too.<br><br>Mr. Wizard just posted that editing signatures has been turned on even though putting images in there is still possible (though against forum rules).  In case there are a bunch of rule-breakers around you might want to keep this in your back pocket:<br><pre>.Signature img { display: none !important; }</pre><br>

There should already be options in there for stripping images out of signatures or hiding them entirely.

Oh, so there are.  I guess I’m a little carried away with the CSS.<br>

The new  dark theme plus Vanilla Blue makes for a really snazzy combination.

Wow, did not know it could do that.  Nice!

If someone makes that SRK’09 skin, I’d support them with HELLA likes and agrees.

<p> Gray is up in first post. Test it out please.</p><p><img src=“http://srktt.com/skin/vanillagray.png”></p><p><br></p><p><br></p>

Since no one wants to step up, I tested it out, no issues I’ve seen so far.  I’m sure someone is going to complain about the image not being on the header, but who cares, still rocking blue steel.  I’ll run with this for a few hours and see if I can break it.  Great job Kyle.<div>Just for grins, I resized the SRK logo used back then. Fits just fine there.</div><div><br></div><div> <img src=“http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d171/Kitsunisan/srk-logo2.png” style=“font-family: ‘lucida grande’, ‘Lucida Sans Unicode’, tahoma, sans-serif; line-height: 1.7em;”></div>

Man, Kyle is the fuckin’ TRUTH, b. Using this theme right now and forever. Everything looks good, bro. This is how skinning should be. So far, I haven’t seen any issues with it, other than the fact that, by default, Vanilla uses white buttons for pretty much everything lol.

@Kyle, found one thing of note, if you happen to have the base black theme installed on the site to get rid of the blinding flash of white you see sometimes when navigating the posts all turn dark, rendering the text unreadable.  It’s easily fixed by switching to the white theme, but I’ve found that sometimes has to be done from one thread to the next.  It’s a nice effect for blue steel(or vanilla blue), but not good for gray.

<br><p>Thanks. I had the logo myself as well as the old splatter background. I ended up preferring the white. The background kept showing up on the reply box which made the text even more unreadable.</p><p>Glad people like it though. It took me a while to be happy with the color choices.</p>

I think that’s more than just skinning it.  You’re looking to have the way the timestamp is shown changed. That’s something that needs to be changed in vanilla.<div>And god damn it, I want that rep bar back.</div>

I don’t mean to change the text itself, just the background color. More contrast and differentiation between posts.<div><br></div><div>*Edit: Here is the entire code, with the couple of changes I made to made it a little closer to the original skin (Comment header color and border colors darkened):<br><br>

Can you link me to that archive post? I kept getting busted links when I tried finding one. I’ll look into the headers as well.

Hiya!

Could ya’ll do me a favor and take a quick glance at this: Upcoming Site Improvements. It’s really cool what’s been going on in this thread and I’d be more than open to implementing these themes directly in the core theme and have them accesible through the theme switcher.

All the best,
