Hello CBK. Just curious, not to take away from their tournament but I figured Super Smash Bros Brawl made it to the vote on 4th game. How did the voting process go? Plus there were at least 5 people wanting HD Remix in the tourney from this thread but I didn’t see any for SSBB? Is this final?
Yeah I’m interested in this as well.
Also, I am still curious.
- What is the breakdown on fees. Like how much goes to pot and to venue fees. (each game is 20, does that all go to the pot?)
- What is prize distribution break down? 70/20/10?
Everything except the venue fee goes straight back into the pots.
Breakdown will be 70-20-10
Except in SFIV teams where it’s going to be 80-20
Well the voting came from a few different sites, and well five for HD and smash was the winner with quite a bit more. About 30 more to be exact…and the number is growing!!!
Hmmmm… So no go for HDR then? That’s mighty unfortunate. As an avid supporter of the HDR scene, I just can’t justify making the four hour drive and lugging all my equipment. Thanks, tho. Not sure about how all my other homies feel about it.
I thought Brawl was dead? Don’t Smash players prefer Melee instead?

WEll lets hope not I got a g ood reaction…well mixed but as far as people wanting to play it. It sucks you can’t come Thrust I would have loved to see you here, it’s just HDR would not bring anywhere the ammount of people to make this tournament worth it.
Yes you can but the price will increase ten dollars per event…I’ll put that up thanks for reminding me.

I can tell you how I feel about it. A few thoughts, and with one, it’s CBK’s tournament, he can do whatever he wants, he doesn’t have to cater to the masses. I just wish it was initially conveyed that Super Smash Bros was going to be there all along. I mean, everyone knows we’re street fighter 2 players, much better than our SF4 and SSBB skills. First thing I saw before the thread was posted that there’s a possibility of HDR and taking a vote might make an impact. It is for a fact, the 2nd biggest turnout of players at EVO, and probably the 2nd most popular game in norcal tournies. I can’t say the same for SSBB. I don’t think I have seen one SSBB tourney at Fuddruckers or Norcal Regionals… have you guys?
So it is what it is, Super Smash Brothers is alive and kicking in Reno, well with 30+ players as CBK says, from other sites, I figure the Super Smash Bros Brawl websites? I can think of other avenues for solicitating HDR and I wonder what the turn out would be. Then again, not my decision. Though, I have decided that I probably can’t make this one either since my SSBB MediKnight suck ass lol. Good luck with the tourney CBK.

Its a bit of a bummer not seeing HDr but that is cool. Can always run some casuals on there and what not if there is time.
THe last day to pre register will be march 14, 2009 make sure you buy in before then othewise the games will be that much more expensive.
