ive been getting info from silvergear, that the japanese have came up with some new broken shit, like a way to make Q’s grab have farther distance and always connect. and also a way to fall out of a super even if it connects on you!!! WTF!!!

Yeah you can kara Q’s throw to make it go extremely far so you can do crap like blocked C. Forward kick > Throw, but I never said it’d be a gauranteed hit (they can jump out of it). That’s really up to how you space your character and what not.
As for the falling out of supers bit, well that’s a rather large exaggeration. It’s character specific and involves super jump canceled command grabs. It’s not like you stand still, get hit by super and then mash like a fiend on the buttons in order to miraculously flip out of a connected super. :lol:

I’ll get in touch with you over AIM Paul and teach you the 3S ropes sometime this week. I should be able to answer any and all questions you have and hopefully be able to lead you onto the right path.

But see because of the large Damage scaling in that game. noone in there right mind would do that for an hour to win the game.
Besides GGXX was well thought out. It is actually a good game compared to 3S. Sammy put time into EACH character. no one character is better then the other. When played right, you can win with ANY character, unlike 3S. KEN F’N RULES!!!

Oh good Lord. You make it sound as if 3S is the only game with broken characters/tactics in it.
Every game has it’s own series of tiers and bullshit to go along with it. Get over it.
Okay…Right now the Genei-Jin infinite is (from the looks of it) limited to only one character (being Alex) due to his odd/large hit box.
Also, if anyone managed to pull it off in a tourney they deserve mad props, cause that shit is hella hard. So stop acting like it’s some easy 1,2,3,4 series like Iron Man’s infinite.

True GGXX is a very well thought out game, I won’t argue that.
However I think its been proven that any character can compete in 3S as well. Want examples? Then look at Ryo-chin with his Remy, KSK with his Alex, Boss with his Yang, Xiao with his Ibuki, Georgia with his Ryu, and well the list goes on and on.
The problem really isn’t with the game it’s with the players. America is so far behind in 3rd Strike it’s not funny. Remember when Tokido came to America and destroyed everyone with his unblockables using Urien? That garbage caused an uproar amongst American players back then. And now? Pssst. Everyone and their mom now knows one trick or another on how to get out of it. With time, when exposed to it, we’ll find ways around the new B.S. that comes up.
Does every character in the game have their own brand of bullshit in this game? Yeah. But that could be said for every character in every game and if you can’t come to admitt that then you seriously have MUCH learning to do.
In the end you’re over-emphasizing the bullshit in 3rd Strike because in reality you don’t understand it and will therefore always lose to it (assuming you ever touched the game again.).
The only person complaining is you Eric and for no real reason. I mean, you don’t even play the game. So again, I say get over it (and yourself.).

Hmmm, I don’t know if I wanna say something about this, but I should, pyrolee almost beat Izu who won SBO last year. He’s getting praised and is considered the best player in America (even though numerous people outside FF will try so hard to debate and say that he isn’t). Izu plays Makoto, Ryo-Chin plays Remi and so on and so forth, you’re right there are a lot of good characters that can compete in the major scene, but you can’t take the fact that the top tiers is always, and will be existent cause people can’t get away from it. Ken/Chun Li/Urien (isn’t he considered tops??), they’re always gonna be there. My problem with 3S is the fact that the game will revolve around getting your supers (besides Urien and Yun), but then again what do I know, I’m a XX and CvS2 player :bluu: .
The arguement as to why we think XX is better than 3S is because every character has their chance of winning better than anyone in any fighting games (i.e. without super can Remy win againts Chun Li’s poke? vs can Sol win vs Eddie without his dust loop?). This arguement will always either end up having 2 parties not being satisfied with the actual answer or they’ll end up saying that both games have their ups and downs. Just that if you look at it closely, any XX characters has a definite chance of winning a game than any of the characters in the other top fighting games.

Don’t get me wrong, I think America has some fine 3S players and I openly consider Pyrolee to be tops.
But you can ask Pyrolee or any other top American player that’s been to Japan and they’ll tell you the same conclusion they’ve reached in the many conversations I’ve had with them: American players as a whole have ALOT of catching up to do.
I’ll admitt it. Despite the recent influx of lower tier characters ranking higher then once expected 3S will always be dominated by the top 3 (Ken, Chun-li, Yun).
The definitive top tiers in 3S are:
- Chun-li (SAII)
- Ken (SAIII)
- Yun (SAIII)
after that it’s arguable.
I’ll be honest, 3S is a game that does indeed put alot of emphasis on Super Art selection regardless of the character you’re playing.
You’re making good observations JP.
Granted, GGXX is indeed a far more balanced game in comparison to 3S. I won’t argue that, simply because it’s true. I’ll even go as far as to say GGXX is over-all a better game then 3S.
So you’ve got me there. I can’t dispute the statement you’ve presented me.
GGXX, however does not appeal to me like 3S does and in the end the only thing that really matters to each person is his own preferences.
In the end I’d like to say thanks for the well composed post JP. It certainly makes things easier on my end. 
Your problem Eric is you don’t understand, or in the very least practice, the philosophical concept of charity. Hence, your “deaf ears”.
It’s always been a lacking area of your life and it’s something you should seriously consider applying to your life.
