here’s my argument; with all these people saying “oh keep them free”, are you saying you don’t feel confident in yourself to the point where you would put money on the line? what’s the point of signing up people who don’t even want to put in 2 bucks into a tournament?

I think keeping them free is cool then people can play freely and in a some what tournament atmosphere. where you pay only 25cents a game. where in a 5$ entry fee and losin the first two rounds would technical be the 2.50$ a game.
As a up coming scrub I can say that free is nice, and when isn’t free better. less money to spend at playin a game competatively.
And also playing with the entry fee would be cool for me too. that weeds out people that wouldn’t play normally, like the weird little mexican kid that really didn’t know what was going on. Plus for me Gaining points at a regulated event. Not everything in life is free. Doesn’t really matter whether it’s free or a 2-5$ entry fee. I just want to play new and different people at a competative level. And money adds a thrill like something is really on the line. playing for a reason and purpose. with the free tourneys I feel I still played casually.
Does anyone play serious because they just want to win? Or are you always gonna be like I have to have money to motivate me? Well get a job and get motivated about that(you’ll make a lot more money) and keep the tournies free so people can participate and have fun, I was that little mexican kid once in life and I could tell he was really excited to play and I think he even won a match!
So you need money to actually make you motivated?? That’s stupid. You can be motivated even without money. How are the japanese player doing well without cash tourneys?? Can you explain me that. And don’t you dare fucking say that “well their Japanese” bullshit excuse cause there’s no room for it.
OK so I think everything is getting blown up. I’m just saying playin either way has its advantages and disadvantages. Hell I could play all day long and lose every single match but still be fun. and if I played one match for money (like a dollar) just makes it a bit more exciting even though I know I’m probably going to lose. And I know that sounds stupid, but that just how I feel about it. And it’s not moivation it’s just a point of view. Not gonna stop me from coming to tourneys and playin my heart out.
I went to Atlantis during the afternoon and the left side coin slot ate Dizzam’s money, the first player side forward is really messed up. I went there later on and remember to put my money in the right slot except it ate my money, a whole dollar. No one was there and I got so mad I kicked the machine in the coin slots so hard the whole control panel jumped off the ground. :eek:
Nothing much going on here, just at work bumming around making that $15 and hour posting here on SRK. :lol: (Already did most of the paper work, so I figure why not kill some time and take a paid break?).
Outside of that I have some studying to do when I get home for a test tomorrow, and that pretty much sums it up for me.

When my parents are out of town, why not throw a weekly get together and just play games on a normal day? I would need people to bring a stick that’s PS2/Dreamcast compatible, but no need to bring any games (unless you wanna play something I don’t have)
I was thinking of Tuesdays at 7:00pm, come over and we’ll have the games in my family room, so we can just chill and relax. And if we don’t feel like playing, we can watch random tournament videos or something.
I think I changed my mind about going to regionals. It’s what…Feb 10th, 4 days away, and they haven’t even posted if it is a go for this weekend. They don’t even have like signup times or anything. That’s pretty fucking lame.
So anyways, if it really is this weekend I don’t think I’ll be going. If they reschedule it for after the 14th I’ll definitely go, but right now the whole thing seems kinda flaky.
I’ve also officially retired from XX. I’m never touching that game again in the arcade. I ordered my fliptop and I get #r soon, so when bullshit hotlantis finally gets #r, I will make my debut and beast on random mexican kids.
