Remora Official Thread - RGB LED control for MadCatz FightSticks

Hi Everyone,

Anyone try and connect the Remora to Paradise Arcade Uila LEDs. I currently have them connected but there not lighting up properly when I’m performing initial setup of the buttons and also when I’m trying to setup favorite colors for specific buttons. Anybody have any advice on what I need to do properly.

Never knew these could be hooked up to the Uilas. Might require soldering work? Who knows.

requires an extra mod to the remora… i will post diagrams this weekend…
this voids any waranty with toodles if you do this btw

Hi purplearms. Thanks for responding. I’ll be looking forward to the diagrams. Does the mod with the Remora involve the G, C and V points? If it does then I’m not exactly sure on how to perform it so any info or drawing would be greatly helpful. I will live with the voided warranty. I’m close to finishing my masterpiece and just have this little hurdle to climb over. I’m eager to post some pics and videos of this in action. Thanks in advance!

this can work?

thx purplearms!

Yeah you break the trace between C and G (on the underside of the board), then connect V to C

I’ve attached a picture and wanted to verify if this is what I need to do:

Also, by making this break and new connection what does this accomplish? Is there some change in current happening?

Would the process be the same for a PS360+ ?

Correct. This changes the common pin from common cathode to common anode.

Yes

There are some new diagrams available in post #3 of the ArcEye3 thread.

Hey purplearms, were you able to look into this? I’m itching to place an order for two sets of Remoras/ArcEye3s, but I can’t stand the joystick clicking and need the Spark. Thanks in advance!

Oh yeah I forgot. I will test this today… thanks for the reminder

With my PS360 and all LEDs on white (on my TE-S on xbox 360) i read a maximum draw of 220ma. Thats well under the limit of 500ma for USB. So you should be fine.

Awesome! Thanks for testing. I’ll be putting in an order soon.

Toodles I don’t know if it’s just me, but after I cut the trace for the TE-S (kgnd) functionality, I lose start and select unless I solder a wire from the 2 ground spots where the start and select cables are to the kgnd spot on CN2.
Am I doing something wrong?

Also, here’s the wiring for the PS3 TE-S in case anyone needs it. Basically, I just pulled out the connectors using a small screwdriver and pushed them back in to match CN1 and 2 on the remora side:

Right PCB is the xbox terminal strip, but it’s the same layout on the Remora.

WOW! Is that all you have to do to get the Remora to work with a Madcatz PS3 stick?

Irregardless, that is so useful! Thankyou so much Vicko!

i just got my Remora today but don`t have manual i check this http://godlikecontrols.com/download/remorainstall.pdf
BUT IS BROKEN!

Thx

Additionally, @purplearms has started working on an adapter.
@32teeth has one built and processing. Coming in the mail soon…

I know what you’re feeling, but be patient; Toodles is still making the complete Install Guide. He’ll get it around to it.
