I’ve gone back to my original team of Haggar Chris and Taskmaster. Problem is Haggar and Chris both get blown up by certain characters (like that bastard Hawkeye) Vergil’s my answer for people that give the Mayor and Chris a rough time.
so I was thinking the following:
Haggar (Lariat) Vergil (Rising Sun) Taskmaster (Aim master L) Rising Sun allows easy combo extension (particularly after Piledriver and Sky High Back Drop and reset attempts. While Lariat can do the same for Vergil and provide some lockdown.
Chris (Gun Fire) Vergil (Rapid Slash) Taskmaster (Aim master L)
Rapid Slash will allow Chris to maintain control, his gunfire is slow and lasts long enough to protect vergil. Can also allow combo extension. Same for Taskmaster.
Vergil also grants them safe DHCs with DT or Spiral Swords and can certainly benefit from them both being batteries. Am I on to something here?
Hawkeye, he works good with Vergil and Wesker. You could run it Hawk/Wesk/Vergil, where H+Vergil assist into triple arrows creates a blockstring in which you are positive on block; or, Vergil/Wesk/Hawkeye for a strong teleport/mixup game. Hawkeye anchor does take some work and practice to be effective with, so if you want the easier and somewhat more effective(in its own way) order to begin with, Hawkeye/Wesk/Vergil is a good order. But honestly, that team works in whatever order you choose.
Strider. I’ve been running Vergil/Wesker/Strider for a while now, and my only issue is the lack of good DHC’s. Both vergil and wesker have great synergy with Strider/Vajra.
But I’ve been looking for a good 2nd to replace wesker who has good DHC potential, allows an easy pickup off a helm breaker, and can take advantage of Vajra’s hard knockdown. (and yes, I know, Dante, but I’d really like a higher health / higher damage character)
only characters who fit those critiria are Frank, Doom and Captain America
If you can deal with a subpar non-derpy anchor you can run Iron Man who in return gives you the best beam assist in the game and a great THC for Wesker. If not Hawkeye or Dante.
Is there a way to combo off a helm breaker with Doom or Frank? That’s really the only reason I stick with Wesker, and really the only reason I run Vergil on point instead of 2nd.
If my Dante wasn’t complete ass I’d be running Vergil/Frank/Dante.
There is a player here in texas who plays Vergil/Frank and he combos off it with Cart. Timing looks kinda strict but I’ve seen it done. Doom can with Rocks which is an intresting assist for Vergil, missiles and beam I’m not sure of though.
Working on Trish/Nova/Vergil. Unblockables for days! I posted a few of my ranked matches while testing out my new PVR. I like the synergy of this team.
can anyone here help me in my team,il be using mag, vergil doom,.im new at vergil so i really dont know the synergy,is anyone here using the same team? could you probably post a vid or notations of your combo with vergil using mags disruptor assist and doom’s hidden missile,.
I actually logged on to ask the same thing kinetic just did. Jam session vergil seems like kind of a 101 idea, I just never ran the brothers together before. I can figure combo extension out, and call-jam-then-M-teleport is pretty obvious, but wondered if there were any specific sequences that make jam particularly threatening. Kind of like how sL+ frank shopping cart into tele is an extremely difficult to block crossup. I’m not running frank, just an example of the sort of cheapness I’m wondering if exists. For reference my team in this case would be Mag Vergil Dante. Thanks!!
It is a pretty godlike assist for Vergil. The only downside is that it comes with Shuma…
When you helm breaker + assist with mystic ray and the helm breaker hits you can follow up with a full combo because mystic ray OTGs. If the the helm breaker doesn’t hit you can cancel into teleport to get a teleport mixup.
So mystic ray is like Vajra but you don’t have to waste x-factor to convert off of it.
Some teams that I can think of that can really abuse mystic ray are:
Vergil/Dante/Shuma
Vergil/Skrull/Shuma
Vergil/Strange/Shuma
However, they all come with Shuma anchor…
Vergil/Shuma/ (Best assist for Shuma that is a decent anchor) is probably optimal for someone running Vergil/Shuma.
I actually decided I want a beam in there somewhere. Whether it be for Dante or Dormammu. I want to put in Doom or Magneto. Maybe Vergil/Mag/Dorm or some variation of that?
I recently adopted Cap/vergil and the synergy is phenomenal but one fact I haven’t been able to get around is Cap’s bad MUs such as Zero or Firebrand (basically anyone with air superiority that can bat SS back and keep moving unhindered or bait it out and punish). I’ve been trying to figure out a cap/vergil/x or cap/x/vergil solution but I’m just not finding any assists that carry synergy with vergil after cap’s gone. My new idea is to use a dynamic team layout and use assist holds during loading to put cap 2nd during bad matchups. I know vergil is an amazing anchor…but he also counters all of caps’ bad MUs if I get him out on point safely…so I’m wondering what would be a good 3rd? The ordering would go like this:
x/Cap(CS or SS)/Vergil(rapid) or Vergil/Cap/x?
default: 1/2/3
:a1: (primary ordering when no bad MUs are present): 2/1/3
:a2: 3/2/1
(** you order it this way so that Cap is never placed anchor…he is a terrible anchor **)
So the question is, do I commit the 3rd to be my second/point, or do I use vergil for that and make the 3rd my anchor? What characters would be buffed by cap/vergil and what anchors would buff them?
Currently I’m thinking Taskmaster. but I’m not sure whether to run him anchor and give vergil an assist to work with and give cap DHC into swords, or give Task full access to all those assists and play a very strong pressure chip game and make use of vergil who is the stronger anchor. Also not sure about (vert or horizontal assist) with task and (SS or CS) with cap, each has really strong options depending on order.
