The abject tool factor is high.
Awesome, so you agree that if you upload videos you cross a noticeable and enforceable line. That was the only point in my very brief comment.
The images are copyright Capcom. Anything they let us do with them is by their grace and kindness. If you do not like this world’s reality, that sounds like something you should take up with the courts and/or YouTube, who will generally shut your video down upon request so fast it’ll make your clueless head spin. Been there, done that, bought the t-shirt (for both sides of that equation).
If you do not believe that this is the case, then you have the option of you yourself putting up content and then challenging the takedown request. Put your money where your mouth is. Report back on how that goes.
Cool. And I bet you’re probably in your teens and have done little to no personal investigation in the matter, let alone talking with a lawyer, and are just generally talking out of your ass hoping to let other people fall on the sword for you.
If you don’t want to buy exactly what you bought, DO NOT BUY IT.
If I get a unlockable disc of Adobe Premiere and hack my way into unlocking that, or other nerfed version transmogrified into the full version, I am actively pirating that piece of software, no matter how much my uneducated ass will ignorantly shout otherwise. Thanks for playing.
Yeah, probably not. Probably I have not been highly involved with music and copyright law in the past decade I’ve worked professionally on tools to rip music and video. I’m sure your unfounded opinions better my own direct conversations with lawyers upon the subject.
I am not a lawyer. I do write software in this field, and the content and features we can deliver are directly influenced by the law of the land.
If you care about this issue, get involved. The EFF is always interested in more activists. But do get informed: copyright and fair use as regards the digital era is all sorts of interesting. You would be hard-pressed to find a more interesting area of law. Get involved. Don’t stay ignorant hiding behind your keyboard. Get involved. I give the EFF money: what they’re doing is important. But don’t try to shout your way to being right: get involved and help change the world positively.
“Perfectly legal” - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lenz_v._Universal_Music_Corp . You’ve got to be reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally careful with that. People might be benevolant and graceful as regards some usage, but – you actually are crossing a marked and enforceable line, so you’ll want to tip-toe carefully. There’s really nothing incidental about posting unreleased images from the disc.
Horseshit. Correspondingly, I could claim that I am uploading your entire musical ouevre to educate the world that that music exists.
Stop talking out of your ass. Get educated and get involved.
