I used your post as a generalization, my apologies. Its just many people are claiming the Vita version will be better in all regards simply because they get the 12 characters at a discounted price and I find it stupid. Its like saying the SSFIV 3DS edition was better because it came out later and was cheaper than the original even though it was vastly inferior.

Let me make an easy to understand analogy for you: you know ripping and redistributing music off CDs is illegal, right?

This is like buying a CD, then uploading the entire album to youtube with a disclaimer saying “Don’t take this down, it’s legal because I bought the CD through perfectly legal means.”

You bought the music CD. That does not mean you own the rights to the music on it. Just because you bought the CD doesn’t give you the right to do whatever you want with the content.

Likewise, just because you bought the game, does not mean you have the right to do whatever you want with the content (YES, that includes non-DLC content).

Will you be prosecuted? Probably not, because you’re literally not worth the time. But don’t fool yourself into thinking that means it must be legal, especially when you clearly don’t understand how copyright laws work.

Personally, I think of uploading match vids etc. as civil disobedience.

second of all its not redistributing the characters files to the whole world its showing that they exist to the world, and showing something thats on the game already that they too could access if they had purchased the game and used the same or another method to unlock it earlier than intended. there is nothing illegal about that at all.

you could upload a video of yourself listening to the music and its perfectly legal. lol the logic behind your entire post is just fail and doesnt even relate to the scenario, in fact people have been using the same method to protect their videos from being muted just with different words.

last time i checked a Photoshop TRIAL version is FREE to TRY, no purchase involved, therefore there is no debate…that would certainly be illegal because you never purchased anything in the first place, nice attempt though.

What I’m talking about has nothing to do with DLC. Technically speaking, us uploading any videos of the the game at all is on iffy legal grounds. If Capcom for some reason or other wants to take down my combo video made of my unhacked, vanilla SFxT game, they do have the rights to do that.

Using methods like repitching the audio, reversing the image, etc. to “protect” the video from being taken down is not a form of legal protection, it’s a method of avoiding detection by the automated system. Again, don’t assume that just because you’re getting away with it makes it legal.

eulas dont mean shit, they have no legal bind, its why soul calibur 3 had a million color/texure hacks. next time maybe capcom wont make the mistake of putting DLC on disc.

I think this all roots back to SOPA and PIPA to a extent…if you look at the bigger picture. however out the scope of those two, the debate whether or not tampering with the contents of a purchased piece of content is illegal or not…well…
