So with the reveal of the 3rd Strikers, anybody else thinking about checking out Makoto?

She (theoretically), can blow people up with a few good guesses, deals crazy stun, and has a tomboyish swag. Sound like anybody we know?

I might add Dudley to the squad depending on how they make a 3S character in SSF4, but Sakura will always be my number 1 character.

Makoto is more like Fei Long and Abel than Gouken for sure. She’s not at all like Gouken.

She has rekkas and a command grab, an in air axe kick, and overhead chop.

You’d like her. Sak and Mak ftw.

She doesn’t really have Rekka since it’s just a single striking attack that travels, closer to Gouken’s Palm but less distance, doesn’t avoid fireballs and much faster.

I don’t like the look of Makoto’s face Looks off, Ibuki looks awesome though and can’t really get a good enough look at Dudley. I’ll be trying all 3 of them out definitely, whether I’ll stick with any is another matter though

You know with all these awesome character additions it’s basically making it out so that I am not a 100% Sakura mainer anymore, but then again I saw this coming. Juri & the 3S cast alone are going to get my attention to see who’ll work as subs, but no one’s topping the original SF schoolgirl for #1 spot. Still Super’s going to be exciting, much more so than vanilla; hopefully all us Sakura won’t have to keep running into the same 5 characters all freaking day and have more interesting matchups to face

this… look at all the other games that had more choices… still sagat and ryu fests… this will be no different.

although im not expecting anytihng different with super… im still 100%ing sakura, and im still gonna be dealing with shoryukens. all the new characters will just be more faces i get to see in player matches

When we all finally got to hear that Makoto is making it, I knew that I finally found a solid sub character. Still reppin’ Sakura as my main, but Makoto is now my second main. I’m glad she came out because I couldn’t choose a sub for the life of me. I just couldn’t stick to a solid sub, but now it feels like I finally can. Plus, she adds to the repertoire of female characters that I can play as.

Man, I’m kinda hyped with Ibuki. That 2nd Ultra looks so cool when it lands. I never thought I would say this: Sakura will be my main, but I guess I’m going to give Ibuki a chance.

But first I got to get some skills. I’ve made it to g1-d and it looks like I finally can handle my stick as good as my pad now, but I still have a hard time doing basic combo’s. Luckily I know how to read people pretty well, which gives me a reasonable win/loose percentage.

Sakura is Ibuki’s rival :bgrin: I can imagine this being the start of a great friendship between the two :tup:

Hearing more about Ibuki and Makoto saddens me a little, they’re sounding quite a bit more complex than I originally thought and that will probably stop me from being able to use them We’ll see, if I can play a scrubby version of them then that’ll be fine but if it’s like Viper in the sense that you need to be able to do super jump cancels to be able to use her properly then “profound sadness”

This whole Ibuki vs Sakura thing is pretty sweet! I have no idea why it’s not Ibuki vs Makoto as it was in 3S but I guess they thought it was better to forge links between the new and old characters.

Anyway it’s great that SF has all sorts of different playstyles - something for everyone yadda yadda yadda - but for me it’s all about the rushdown and mixup for life! :bgrin:

Yeah, think we kinda expected Sakura to be Makoto’s rival and Makoto being Ibuki’s, or at least Makoto and Ibuki having one rivalry somehow. Hope Sakura’s rivalry is a friendly one like with Dan and Ryu, can’t really see them being “enemies” as such since they’re both good people. Might be a little like Dhalsim and Rufus, Rufus all “whoa you must be an alien or something”, perhaps Sakura bumps into Ibuki and is all like, “Wow a real ninja! Show me some cool stuff please!”

I kinda wonder how Fei-Long fits in with Makoto though :lol:

Just noticed that English Ibuki can’t pronounce her own name i-bu-ki not i-buu-ki :wgrin:

I generally can’t stand English voice acting in fighting games just because of the inane crap that they say. I’m sure the Japanese is just a direct translation, but it’s far less annoying when I don’t understand it :razzy: I’m stoked that they got Makoto’s original VA.

The whole SF4 board is dead at the moment - everyone is in full theory fighter mode over the new 3S characters. hehe.
