Regarding c.mk xx sho, sometimes it feels like I can get it off the c.mk alone, but generally in close matches I won’t risk it unless I have meter to burn, or I’m whiff punishing and I know it’ll hit anyway.
I’ll almost always buffer shoryus into whiffed c.mks though, no real reason not to, if they walk into it, that’s free damage.

Yeah. Indeed, my favorite too. And like I said, she sounds a lot like English Makoto. Strangely enough her VA was the only one not listed on IMDB.

you can’t compare an RTS game to street fighter. most fighting games (including street fighter, according to ono) arent even meant to be balanced.

even if you could make the comparison, i really doubt that your WC3 story is true. ive never heard of a serious progamer refusing to play a matchup. to give you a different example, there are many 6:4 maps in starcraft, and some that have imbalance as bad as 9:1 or 10:0 (yes, 100% win rate for one race) that were used in professional leagues in korea, where there is more money at stake than any SF tournament. in some cases, they were even used in grand finals of the largest majors. imbalance is a part of gaming

Well that explains why Ono decided to make Fei/Yun/Yang so damn good in AE.

10-0 maps in SC1? lol where are you getting this number from? What maps are you talking about and when were they ever used? SC1 is a excellently balanced game. Just saying that it’s somehow imbalanced because of a few maps means little, considering that the map pool is usually refreshed every so often.

In case you’re too lazy:

I remember back when LT and fountain EI were in the WC3L map pools it was a regular occurrence for UD and Ne players to pick Orc on those maps against UD. It got to the point where seeing Orc mirrors between guys like Remind, Soju, Deadman, Lucifer, Sweet, Fov, Susiria etc. was commonplace.

Sorry to bombard SRK forums with RTS discussion, but I strongly feel that bad matchups like 4-6 should not be accepted or brushed off so easily.

honestly, i just buffer, so there’s a shouken waiting inside every cr.mk that hits. i guess it’s an option select of sorts. if it doesn’t hit, then it’s just a whiffed cr.mk, but if it hits, then shouken automatically comes out. i do it at a distance where it won’t hit a blocked opponent and instead, they’ll either walk into it or throw out a limb for me to hit.

Yeah that’s a great use for it. I was always afraid of getting my mk blocked and also get screwed with the shouoken coming out. Now I’m going to start using it at the distance that you mentioned. Thanks!

i dont remember the name but there were several maps last year in proleague that literally had 100% win rate stats for TvZ/ZvT before being removed. the map katrina had a horrible winrate for terran in TvP and it was used in several major grand finals (ironically the terran won though in the finals though, iirc)

We never started a new video thread going from vanilla to super and AE matches have been getting posted to the current video thread.

However, I will allow you to make a new AE video thread which I will sticky and then I will rename the other video thread so its just general sakura vids and critique. I’ll probably unstick that one. I’m also going to sticky this general discussion thread. In most character forums the GD is stickied. I dunno why nobody ever did ours.

Things change, just gotta adapt to it.

Nah you can leave the other video thread up, that can be just a general video thread and all super matches, the thread I’m aiming for is to have all "Sakura vs (character) under that character’s spoiler (similar to the matchup thread) The only reason I’m just including AE matches is that a lot of the matchups has changed. I just hope this will be worth it though >.<. I am willing to update the thread everyday with more high level matches

I hate online. I hate it so much. It’s so inconsistent. I’ll face someone who completely overwhelms me with crazy setups and lose, and then the next game I’ll face someone who doesn’t even know how to play and still lose to wakeup shoryukens. I realize I’m bad at this game, but damn. It’s so hard to adapt to each and every person.

Yeah lol god forbid you have to play the player and not the matchup. Not everybody plays the same. Playing online and acquainting yourself with the variety of playstyles (most of them scrubby) will help you in the long run, imo.
