Recommend me some Punk music

 You’re not saying rap and rock is an oxymoron right?..I don’t know anything about these linkin park collaborations. I feel like I’m missing something lol…

It is NOW, Anthrax and Public Enemy did something decent and Limp Bizkit’s first album, in comparison to rest of them was above average…but yeah Rap and Rock calls for one of the genres to bastardize itself for the sake of the collaboration these days.

As for pop punk uh…Pretty much any band they’re playing on MTV…green day, blink, good charlotte…if you’re feelin just a LITTLE dangerous you could always try guttermouth, I always thought they were pretty fun and not too inaccessible if you’re not into the harder stuff…unless you’re P.C. in which case you may wanna steer clear.

Oh lol. Yeah I haven’t heard a new “collaboration”… just actual bands that do both. I guess I wasn’t expecting that answer since rap+rock has been around since the 80s… which is pretty close to the birth of hip hop anyway.

edit- and I was kind of serious about my question about “pop punk” because I always thought punk was like a counter culture or anti-pop.

leftover crack/choking victim is an awesome band too

Dude where’s The Ramones?!

The Queers, New Found Glory, Good Charlotte and Sum 41 are the only pop punk I can think of right now.

green day
the offspring

lol… the person that negged me is a moron.

down to nothing, miles away, the miles between,

BEYOND REACH!!!

one of the best bands out right now…

or you can listen to my band…its old stuff but good!

sick nasty!

it’s funny, while most of you, including myself, do not consider “pop punk” to be true punk, but all thi guy really was looking for is some pop punk suggestions. now i don’t know who the fuck the “plain white t’s” are, but regardless of anyone’s opinion of the matter, he isn’t looking to get schooled in what “real” punk is. honestly, it could be said that 99% of the band mentioned here aren’t true punk, it could be said that once punk had a name it was dead. but honestly, in the end, regardless of him saying anything about punk, he’s just looking for comparable bands to the one’s listed.

sorry, but i’m in a ranty mood this morning.

however, if you do enjoy the pop punk, try listening to some of the old school stuff, assuming you haven’t already, it’ll really let you appreciate the different forms of punk music. really it’s all three chord rock anyways…

Joy Division

OH NO!

oops. I’ll take care of that matter.

High five.

If you’re looking for pop punk, you should check out Allister, Showoff, Mest, Newfound Glory, or any other band that has ever been signed to Drive Thru, Fat, or Epitaph.

You’re best bet is to pick up a bunch of those punk sampler cds and find sum bands you like.

Here is some mix of Punk/Ska

Guttermouth
Voodo Glow Skulls
Skanking Pickle
NOFX
Bad Religion
Sex Pistols
Lag Wagon
Aquabats (First two Albums)
Bruce Lee Band
Screeching Weasel (A Required Listening)
