Recent Purchases and Good Finds

Impulse Buy FTW!!! Ps2/BC/box compat… I wonder if i saw someone on here asking for one…

anyone know about the PBC?

Hopefully that bad boy works. The one I bought at a garage sale had a dead PCB.

i always go into the electronics section of value village hoping to score a gem…never happens…lol…

I almost didnt go in, was just droppin off some donations to de-clutter the home. this location in particular is pretty sparse when it comes to electronics. I think I saw a some Sega system one time, but didnt think twice about it :frowning:

Cracked it open and its a very sexy looking PCB. It even had a serial connection for PC!

Bought the UK limited edition of Arcana Heart 3 for under $60 (with shipping)… Works fine on NTSC sets, too. And it connects with the American PSN network just like the Japanese version does. The UK dealer I bought it from last week shipped fast and I just got the game in today!

Also found a good deal on last year’s PS3 hybrid Macross game. That game is becoming harder to find but deals can still be found if you look carefully enough. That was also a sub-$70 deal.

Next game buy will be Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3…

Can you still return it? It can be bought for $30 usd from Zavvi. http://www.zavvi.com/games/platforms/ps3/arcana-heart-3-limited-edition/10359609.html

Nope, I opened it already… I still consider I got a good deal on this. I don’t think I spent THAT much on it… Especially compared to the Japanese version! YIKES(!) — even the single disc JP game is around $85-$90 because of the lousy exchange rate.

Zavvi.com didn’t show up on any of my searches so my response is, “Oh well… But it could have been a lot more expensive than it was!” LOL

And I do like having a disc-version of the game as opposed to that $30 PSN download that would take over a day to get!

Fuck! I still want that.

Some HK dealers have good deals on the PS3 Macross hybrid disc that has the first Macross F motion picture on it (as well as the demo PS3 game based on the PSP shooters). The online stores (usual suspects; think “Bazz” games and those yahoos that charge $400+ for OOP joysticks!) that still have the game are charging around $100. There are still dealers on the auction sites that will cut you a good deal on the game…

It is out-of-print but apparently the supply isn’t anywhere near depleted and you can still find unopened copies. Earlier in the year, Renchi (UK import shop) had the first Macross F hybrid game on sale for $38 US… Renchi’s website has changed, though, and I’m not seeing an import site anything like the earlier website.

The second Macross F motion picture hybrid disc has a “complete” shooter on it. Some more complaints about that game, though… Doesn’t seem to have gotten the best reviews. Pretty much all around $100 US everywhere you look! It’ll probably be discounted next year… As most of us know, the newer import games are horribly priced now because of the devaluation of the dollar versus the yen. It’s the first time in many years we’re seeing an average of $85-$100 for import (Japanese) games!

I’ll probably ask around the MWF for where to get the best deals on it.

the HRAP2SA went for 189.81

Yeah, and I wasn’t exactly willing to pay that much. Of course, that probably happened because it was posted here. I found it before you posted it… then people started bidding. I was willing to drop $150 max as of now due to a lack of change. I usually snipe auctions, but I didn’t even get to place my bid.

My eyes played tricks on me, for some reason I thought that was Buy It Now, or I wouldn’t have put it up.

Not surprising, that’s the stick people should have, period.

I didn’t want any of you guys to get it.
I was going to pick it up from them.

I just let it go after Missing Person linked it.
Then bids happened.

For real, JDM?

I hope you don’t hate me…

Serious bidding rarely ever happens till the closing seconds of an auction, and people all over the place would have been watching that item regardless of if it was linked to on here or not. So find comfort in the sense it was unavoidable, or else eBay will consume your humanity.

Bidding before the auction is in it’s closing moments is just plain stupid. Those bidders just raise the price and never get the item.

Yeah, but someone is always going to do it so having a strong first bid to discourage other bidders is always a decent tactic.

Oh and someone else brought up the fact that if no one bids on the item the seller can revise the item and set a starting price higher than what it originally was, whereas if there was a bid he’s locked into that starting price.

This is how I win everything I go for. Sniping keeps the prices from artificially going higher than they should. It takes the emotion out of it. I decide what I’m willing to pay, submit it to a sniping website and it submits my bid 6 seconds before the auction is over.

For what it’s worth I’m sure plenty of people were watching the HRAP auction.

But no one was going to go pick up like me.
