Mike Ross is one of the only top players (not necessarily a top Blanka player, just someone we see a lot in big tournaments) I’ve seen that can piano electricity as well as that. If there are others, please feel free to correct me, as I’d really like to know.
If you want to learn electricity, just do it, a lot. Repeat the motion in training mode while listening to some music/podcasts, etc. The big problem I think is that your hand gets tired after a while, but that’s nothing caffeine can’t fix. As far as getting SRI, if you relax the motion and just do it naturally almost like you are typing on a keyboard, its a lot better. I don’t know anyone who’s gotten SRI or anything like that from playing fighting games. I’m 21 and have been playing fighting games for maybe two years? But I know guys in there 30s that have been playing SF since the arcades with no problems. Plus when you’re too old to play video games, who gives a shit anyway?
I used to have the same problem as you, jumping too much, being overly reckless, using a lot of gimmicks during gameplay.
Recently (mostly thanks to ves), I have brought my game up a notch by using more footsies and anti-airs, focusing more on ground control rather than randomly doing shit. I think the main point is to have your mind set on playing a particular method. The reason I might swap Blanka out for an alt is maybe to handle certain match-ups that I find very difficult, or a mirror match. I still hate mirror matches lol.
I find piano-ing the electric a second nature, but maybe I have an advantage because I play the drums/keyboard.
