Yeah, if the attack was definitely meaty then a bog-standard throw will not beat it.
That’s what I thought. I was playing this troll on GGPO who was very good at abusing that. I’d mix it up, try empty jump ins, dash ins, etc, and he’d just grab through everything. As I was using Alex I did an emtpy jump in, then immediate sMK, and he grabbed through the sMK.
It’s also rampant on wakeup. Many times I’m fighting a dude, I knock him down, right on top of him (no homo) and do sMK or crMK with Alex and he grabs right through it.

I use UOH a lot to punish sweeps and connect with super. since it’s a counter, and they’re also crouching, you get more frames to connect. I do this against yang a lot when I feel he’s going to do his rolly kick thing. the UOH either a. counters his low sweep, or b. goes clean over his kick special/super.
