The only constant arguing going on is Dark Geese vs. Emil. And I wouldn’t even call it arguing to tell the truth. It’s more like Emil trying to do everything in his power to make Dark Geese understand that to him, only Asians should be the all mighty gods of authority of high level play in KOF.

Which then goes to Dark Geese telling Emil and everyone that it’s not like that at all. If anything, he’s not even disrespecting the skill level of Asians. His goals just seems to try to get Emil to understand that there is more to KOF high level play than what comes out of Asia. IMO, I don’t really see the negativity in what Dark Geese is trying to do by bringing high level Mexican style KOF to the masses that care to sit and watch some of the best playing these games. It just seems to big some people.

Which then I can see why the US scene gets annoyed at Dark Geese because he keeps saying that he doesn’t care for the US scene at all since there isn’t a cohesive community to begin with and would rather spend his time in Mexico. The only thing close here in the US are the small amount of players in MN, the AI players in Cali and everyone else just spread out all over the country. The problem I see here though, is that Dark Geese doesn’t seem to understand that the majority of the people here don’t care if he doesn’t care about the US scene at all. They’ve pretty much have moved on and only drop his name whenever something regarding him from the past comes up.

Which then basically makes Dark Geese come out and having to defend his name in his fashion which seems to annoy the hell out the majority of the people on this site.

Which then basically begins the flame wars that are a constant in this subforum of SRK. Which then they eventually will die down for a while before either a) someone brings up online play or b) Emil again tells people that he feels only Asians should be seen as the authority of high level play. Which then basically it starts the cycle all over again.

I guess what I’m trying to say is, maybe some people should just sit back and realize that some people will never change. If Emil feels that Asian players are high above everyone else, then let him think that. I really don’t see how this has an effect on how we try to play KoF.

If Dark Geese feels that online play is not worth it, then let him think that. It’s not stopping you from going on GGPO or whatever other system you use to play KoF or any other game for the matter. Maybe DG should also realize that this is the only convenience that a lot of players have at the moment. I mean hell, I live in a state(NY) where everyone pretty much just breathes and lives SF4 right now. There’s no getting away from that.

And also, like I said before, I think what DG is trying to accomplish is a great thing. I hope he succeeds in what he does by bringing a world wide championship to a series of games that has such a huge following all over the world. Hell, I hope one day Emil can see this as a great thing since it can even put his theories to the test. But by constantly coming in here and, for a lack of a better word, taunting US players because they do not possess the same level of play like the Mexican and the rest of Latin American players, sorta makes him look like an ass or a jerk to the majority of US players. But if you believe what he says, I guess he is just trolling us just to hype up his events. I don’t see how that works, but ok.

I’m gonna try to get some players I see into some SNK games though, I know one guy that is interested in MOTW. I’d love to get some offline action going for that game, along with 98UM and 2k2UM. Hopefully the pending home release of KOFXIII helps with building a bit of hype.
