I finally had a chance to post here and I apologize I didn’t sooner…
I wasn’t trying to host an official tournament…I just wanted people to come down and play, check the place out, and talk about setting something up for the near future. We really haven’t done fighting games or tournaments in the past so we are interested in them. I do apologize about the fliers as the guy was away because of the holiday, but they will be set for the next date. I wasn’t going to spend the money with only a few days to put them out there. It is true, we are all xbox360 here as I haven’t had a reason to get anything else. If this became a normal thing…I will get them. If it’s not a big turnout tonight, I’m not concerned, if a few people come down and give me an idea of what they want to see, then it’s worth it.

Gonz (“the” Bison that knocked me out of the tourny): good matches, my play was pretty shabby, but my Abel did some evolving today, and more importantly I’ve decided to just go back to Ryu as my main.
The Pestazoid(?) El Fuerte player: good infinites, I did better vs you than I thought I would, next time we play I should be less rusty with my links, and set-ups.

Hey Mike you should have the fliers say that there is going to be a fight night every friday instead of having to make it for every week. It’s up to you but if you just make one flier for the fight night it would probably cost less.

Had lots of fun there. I think this a very good spot and shows lots of potential. The employees were very willing to help, LOTS of TVs and chairs, good amount of room and best of all a pretty decent turn out of people for a first time meet up! Had tons of fun playing there and will be going back again!
Shame I couldn’t make it. I had work. I will be able to make it next week though!

Random good times at Battlegrounds last week. I hope you all don’t consider me good at BB after the win streaks. I’ve got more than a few people on my cell phone that can help sort out that problem. The Realyst at Battlegrounds was an awesome surprise and I hope I see more Tekken people in CT on a regular basis.
The Yoshimitsu player: I forgot your name, so I called you Duffman in my head, I hope you don’t mind. Thanks for the matchups as I’m still getting used to the game/system/the incredibafrikis new mixups Yoshi has in this game, so thanks for the experience.
Realyst: Props for holding down Julia. I fudged more than a few times against you, but I look forward to more matches. Thanks for your advice, it’s much appreciated.

Thoughts on Classic, 2D Arcade Action!!

Our first Fight Night was a total fucking blast, and for those of you locals who couldnt make it, you missed out on a smashing good time (No pun intended!!). Realyst totally dominated with his Julia and Nina (As expected) as my Yoshimitsu learned much from our first official meet. There was also a huge ruckus coming from our 4 SF4 sets as well as our 2 BlazeBlue sets. Everything was rockin out hardcore!! For those of you who were there, I still got to learn everyones names!! Zoob, Jian… awesome times as I will be there this week as well. Its then a small break for me until the 8th as the next 2 weeks are back to back holidays (X-Mas and New Years). I will be there regularly at least 3 times out of the month. Im thinking the last friday of the month will be a much needed break (Im still recovering from sleep as I type this at 7:24am!!).
Also, the running joke Friday was “Either 40 or a loss.” Real, you know what Im talking about!!
Its awesome that Mike said that he will run Fight Night EVERY FRIDAY evening from the 11th of December out, so be sure to make an appearance!! There were plenty of great, friendly and plain awesome people there getting their D~D~DT’s on. And theres a 24hr Denny’s just around the corner!!
And as a side note, I just ordered an HDD external converter so that I may back up the contents of my HDD up before sending it out to HP for a Mobo repair. Im mentioning this because A: Mike has a 32’ LCD hooked into one of his PC’s and B:

Ah!! There you are Cecil!! Its Damien, that Vega Player you were tossing ideas to. Your Abel was fucking badass and your Ryu Skills were subtle yet amazingly refined. Good times man!! Im gonna add you to my friends list as you gave me the wrong Live Name Friday.
Shizu!!! he is coming?? Awesome!! I played him at Digital Mayhem about a month ago and his skills are very good as my main is Yoshimitsu as well. We played for a literal 90 minutes straight and had an amazing time… I had to stop as my eyes were tiring out. Street Fighter on the other hand… ehh. Gonzalez, Pestaziod’s friend, was a beast with Dictator, so he certainly inspired me to pick him up again. I main as Vega, but he is so damned hard to use with retarded (Read: LAME and NERFED) frame data that sucks under pressure!!
Lets keep up the good word-of-mouth as BattleGrounds should be our local Friday Night HotSpot!! Dont forget to check out that list of 2D fighting games on my previous Post, #237, that I want to bring along for all to have a great time with!! A classic 2D Tourney would fit the bill as all of them (Not counting BloodStorm and Street Fighter: The Movie) are considered classics.
