My wii has also been on the shelf as of late. I think I have bough maybe 4 games for it over the years though the games I did buy were really good. Muramasa, DK, Monster Hunter, Zelda. I will say this I do own more games on my wii then any other system because I own about 50 old school virtual console games like Chrono Trigger, Mario Rpg, Ogre Battle 64, Bonks Adventure etc. So its not all that bad of a system if you arent into emulators. I think the new wii may have a future if the online is as good as xbox live (which is 99% inprobable) as well as the online being absolutely free (also inprobable if the first statement is true) and it has lots of third party support. Which honestly they had demonstrated at the E3 conference. Lets just hope that nintendo will actually make a good system other then a handheld.
With the Wii, Iām just tired of the shovelware being produced for it. Actual GOOD third party are few and VERY, VERY far inbetween. Then, of course, you have the 1st party games, which virtually all of them are pretty goodāI honestly canāt think of a 1st party game that bombed. Itās mainly demographic thatās forcing out this shovelware, I think.
I went in knowing that the Wii was going to fall into the same category as my Gamecube. Itāll only see use for the killer 1st party titles like Mario, Smash Bros, and Zelda. It was worth the money for that. Itās certainly a less expensive paper weight than my 360. At this point though, Iāve racked up so many systems to game on, no one device sees much action.
I bought the Wii on launch day. Stood in line for the damn thing. Honestly thought it was going to change everything, and laughed at the PS3 for being the overpriced junk with no games on it.
Now I play on the PS3 every day of the week, while my Wii is unhooked and has been unhooked for the past year or so. Iāll admit, the first year of the Wiiās existence was pretty damn good. After that, though, I could count the worthwhile games that were released on my fingers. Actually sold my Wii just a few months before Tatsunoko vs Capcom (and it was the first time Iāve ever sold a system - I even still have my TurboGrafx-16, as well as various outdated Gameboys/NDSs), then bought another just to get that game. Loved that game, but havenāt used it much sense. After seeing Lifehackerās video on āLetterbombingā a Wii, I think I may FINALLY have a reason to hook it up again.
In any case, Nintendo is going to have to pull out some manner of black magic to get me to look at the Wii U with anything but disdain.
Honestly, I think once the new gen comes along, Iāll continue to game on my older systems for at least two years. Even after having a Wii and then a PS3 to take itās place, for quite a while, I was still playing mostly my PS2. The Persona series plus various Japanese imports like Hokuto No Ken, Berserk, Namco X Capcom and the Sengoku Basara series got more play individually than my Wii or PS3 did at the time.
If by black magic, you mean more hardcore games/hardcore developer support, then it wonāt be magic thatās so hard to pull off. Nintendo just needs to stop catering to Pokemon fans as muchā¦(demographic)
shouldnāt it say FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDO?

Not sure. Iām posting via my phone right now. The previous pages are loaded with so many images that it crashes my browser so I canāt check.
Each post should be limited to only three images or less. That way mobile browser wonāt choke.
Hereās a couple images just to save this post.
