On Spanish we have a lot of words that are written differently but they are pronounced the same (homophones), we also have words that are written the same and are pronounced the same (homographs), but their meaning changes based solely on the context.
From my experience, learning english is not usually that difficult (i learned it all by myself playing games and reading a lot), is learning how to pronounce the words that it can be hard depending of the person and sometimes their native language.
I teach English to second language speakers. The hard part about English is getting the specifics right, and our ridiculous grammar system.
Most languages have 3 tenses (past, present, future.) English has 12. As first language speakers, it’s difficult to grasp just how complicated speaking English can be sometimes. On the other hand, “basic” English is pretty easy to learn and speak
