Whenever this is done processing, take a look. I apologize in advance for the horrendous quality of the video, all I had was my webcam.
Umm, If they had solid online, we wouldn’t need single player.
Holy shit i went online today with LOCAL people, and it was a fucking lag fest.
Sf4’s netcode isn’t even close to this GARBAGE they strung together.
so far it’s Blazblue netcode > HD Remix > SF4 > 10000s of other games > KOF XII.
The way i see it, this is an amazing game with loads of potential, but this netcode is keeping this crap down.
^Agree completely. Playing this game offline is insanely fun, but living in a small town without a fighting community makes this disappointing. If it had GGPO style like BB or HDremix I would be playing the hell out of it.
Although I guess it is my own damn fault for buying it without waiting for review feedback. I was just too hype after getting Blazeblue and having a blast online.
I just posted on the KOF XII facebook page about the glitch. So hopefully they do something about it.
The Glitch only seems to happen with the 1.01patch, in the nonpatched version this glitch did not happen.
Well there are many things you can defend about the game.
Chin’s infinite i could live with, Athena’s infinite i could live with, poor netcode i don’t really play online anyway, all the other issues about small roster/stages etc i could live with.
As someone who runs Ranking Battles for KOF in the UK, and helps out at the console tournaments i can tell you that the raiden glitch is a pretty big problem.
Especially as we are due to run a tournament this sunday.
What if someone decides to pick Elizabeth vs Raiden? We’re pretty screwed right?
If they patch it, great.
I haven’t got the time to test before i go work but if what the above couple of posts are saying regarding the glitch being only from the 1.01 patch. If this is the case then cool, i can just delete my game data.
Though i like this game, i can’t really defend this glitch. It’s nonsense.
how do you play this game without the patch? I’m an Elizabeth player and I don’t want this happening to me. But the problem if everytime I boot up the game it pauses and starts to download the patch. I hope I’m not stuck with this nonsense.
You’re going to have to play offline for the time being, unfortunately. Whenever a new patch is released, you have to play online with the most recent version of it until they patch it again.
You under the assumption this only works in practice mode?
Nah… just SNK, they made the game so they should’ve had that shit play-tested beforehand :wasted:
Well the Raiden glitch didn’t appear until after the patch came out. I don’t think they had adequate time to test the patch since they were being rushed.
dunno if bug or w/e, but Raiden can grab a standing Daimon with dp+A/C
You can run into Leonas s.A without beeing hit, i tested this with Kim and Kyo, while i tried to do CC combos.
A standing Daimon?
Well, that Raiden DP+A/C is supposed to be grab people jumping… I guess.
They must’ve just messed up some code while making the patch code. I don’t know what they had in that patch, it was fucking huge. Not only that but it took me like seven fucking times to download the shit, with 4-5 install errors and 2 download errors for seemingly no reason. Ugh, what a pain.
Anyways, I’m sure this will be resolved soon, as with a bunch of other things. I’ve noticed that sometimes I won’t be able to jump over a character, and hit an invisible wall, even if they’re not doing anything besides pokes. Anyone else notice that? Doesn’t happen often but I noticed it at least 3 times against different people.
I dunno, the game is still fun and well made for the most part. They probably couldn’t afford anymore hours of testing, and wanted to get the game out between BB and Tekken 6. It’s got a year to become “perfect” for EVO, and with the rumors of K and Mai coming back I’m sure everything will be fixed and tuned by then.
I don’t know why anyone would think this would “break” the game…since nowadays everything is fixable. Is it annoying to know that we’ll be downloading another update? Yes. Does it really hurt the game in the long-run? Not necessarily.
Alternately, you could just be like me and play it with people irl.
@Inverse no, I know it works in either form. I’m just saying, if you think they’d just leave it be you’d gotta be nuts.
Most of the “patch” was just the game install to alleviate load times.
LOL@ you people saying the shitty netcode is no big deal. Dude we all don’t live in an area where fighting games (or any game competition) are popular. The vast majority of the people that bought the game rely on good online to have competition.
My friends aren’t fighting game fans and there’s no local tourney scene (no arcade scene period). I’ve tried posting in the regional forums searching for other people in the chattanooga area and only got one bite and he hasn’t messaged me since. People like me (aka the majority of the people that own this game) NEED online.
