Don’t you check the settings before you choose “READY”???
I encounter these one round, 30 second fuckheads all the time, but I just leave the lobby if that is what they have things set to.
In my opinion all ranked matches should be fixed at 99sec 2/3…but you can easily avoid these problems by checking the match settings before you hit the ready button.
EDIT: Also, you can’t lose 200bp in one match, I believe its impossible. I have seen screenshots of guys with 4Kbp beating guys with 12Kbp and they only got 128bp from the win. I have personally seen guys with less than 100bp beat players with 4K bp and still only gain ~128 bp…
The truth is that there is no 100% sure way to tell.
Generally, if the other guy’s character stops moving for a second, and then you see a drop, AND if you were kicking their ass, its assumed to be a ragequit.
However, I was in a FOUR BAR player match with a friend last week and I saw that exact thing: His character stopped moving for a second, then we got disconnected.
I am SURE it was not deliberate, we were talking in an XBL Party and he was winning both matches when it happened.
So the truth is that you can never be sure, which is why a blacklist is a bad idea in the first place.
Capcom needs to fix this…“street justice” methods are not the correct way to handle this.
Plus, who the hell cares anyway? Droppers pissed me off for about a week and then I got over it, now I find it comical.
I don’t really get the point of this. When you ragequit, you might end up with more BP than you deserve, but matchmaking starts to suck even more. Instead of playing people your “skill” level and maybe winning half (or more) of your matches, you get paired up with much better people that will repeatedly beat down on you, thus, making you want to rage quit to avoid losing so many matches.
It’s funny that people rage quit because they rage quit so much to get to where they’re at. As other people have mentioned, is this even fun anymore?
Just a heads up, but the best way to check if it was an actual rage quit is to go to your recent players list and see if it says that they on the dashboard. If so, then it was a rage quit. No other way to quit the game then go to the dashboard.
Well, yeah…or they just hit the “suspend” button on their router…that disconnects you and you are still in SF4, just returned to the lobby (I tested that in a match with a friend).
All this crap used to make me mad, but now I am the zen master. Drop on me, even in ranked…it doesn’t make me mad anymore.
I used to have the Crown icon (500 wins online or some such nonsense) and the “Technician” title and fools were booting me from lobbies left and right!!! Even if it was a 4 bar match!!!
So I downgraded…the “In Training” title fits my skill level better anyway and now I get booted less.
Its just really strange when some guy is rocking a fairly advanced title and icon, and he boots me from the lobby anyway…the only way for my title/icon to get more noobish is for me to not have them set at all.
