I think I overreacted to wake up mashing. EVERYONE wake up mash anyway and it works without lag too. I was at the arcade last night and had 13 wins in a row then some flowchart ken scrub mashed the hell out of everything and beat me. so yeah wake up mashing does work. on the plus side I owned the same clown 7-0 in a row after that. I started playing random too…whatever works…why bother making any sense.
played “solsoevly” twice since the RAGE QUIT. yeah OWNED. very last round was near perfect. he barely hit me once.

Don’t they still lose BP when they quit?
Well no, you don’t lose BP unless you’re in G1. So I guess quitting on the first match then would still net you the loss. I still think it’s retarded to quit especially in champ mode, since it will start you back at the first match regardless.

First: BP has nothing to do with CE mode…in CE mode you win GP.
Second: You will NEVER lose BP for anything in SF4, except a corrupted save file.

Now, regarding CE mode: Yes, if you deliberately drop AND if the system recognizes it, you can lose a bunch of GP and you will lose any progress in the current tournament.**

And also I never heard of being able to lose GP even if you quit… is there a source?

Yeah, if the system thinks you deliberately dropped, you will lose all the GP you got since the last time your system synced with the servers.
Go read the “CE mode problems” thread in the main SF4 section to see dozens of reports (maybe over 100 at this point) of people on PS3 losing TONS of GP (like, thousands of points per person) because the system thought they dropped.
