I’ll disagree with Para on one crucial detail though: He said that online doesn’t matter, only offline play? Actually, NONE of it matters: It’s a game! And besides, there’s bullshit happening offline as well (people mashing 360 or SRK during block strings?..). Competition is competition whether you can find it offline or online. Sure, if you can find a GOOD player offline the experience is more rewarding. But the same can be said if you can find a GOOD online opponent. The difference is that there’s more chance to find someone online that you can compete with than find someone offline. At least for most of us since we don’t all go to SF tourneys.
I’d like to be able to find people to play with offline all the time. That or I’d wish that online connnectivity was better in this game. Not that it’s totally assed as some people say. I’ve been playing online games for a long time now (though very few fighting games) and SFIV is actually one of the better ones I’ve ever played.

oh yeah and Venom…this is coming from somebody who does play alot offline…it is completly different…a different kind of rush…a no lag environment where links actually work and mashing ultras can be easily heard and read…where staying on the set-up is motivation for playing well rather than just popping into another game whenever…online is good for punish/situational practice and trying out new stuff but true competition comes from live play…just being with other people changes the mentality completely…I know tons of peoplewho play in Canada…you should head to one of their many tournaments one weekend…
in other news…I was a tournament last weekend and there was a Dan player terring shit up so I decided to screw around with him in training mode and apply what I saw and got 3 rage quits with one message reading something along the lines of fuck you and stop abusing lag…dan’s really not that bad…

i get that is why, but many of those spikes came after the gief visibly hit the rage point and was just mashing lariat etc… and the way that you get gief to not do that is to spike the shit out of him until he stops. the gief was being punished for hitting buttons like a rtard

I didn’t get a rage quit, infact, the game went smoothly. However, a player called ‘zombie smell’ that I played last night hada disconnect rate of 28%!!! 
That’s got to be some kind of record? Maybe i just got lucky that he didn’t quit on me, as it was obvious that he was gonna lose when the ultra hit at the end of the second round.
Think there’s been some people over 50% if not near 100% at some point, deliberately of course.

and a couple of days ago another Abel player after beating me he sent a message saying “thick throws are for homos btw…” I just replied “it’s OK I’m not a homophobic”… I was kinda surprised he sent that message 'cause it was a really close match and I only performed a couple of throws on the whole match lol.

“cqwe” on the PC version has been mentioned before, but he is such a blatant cheat that it makes me so angry… he has 299,999 CP and 1 GP every time i fight him and he is skipping straight to finals always somehow. If you beat him you will get a replay upload error as well probably due to the system going spastic at the impossibility of being in G2-A with so many points. Beat him last night and he messaged “lol” to me. Can’t they do something about these guys?

…With 1GP and that many CP? Gringodeath do you realize how the CM system works? There is no possible way to have 1 GP…meaning you’re a G3-E who’s played and lost 1 game.
With 299,999 CP…which I don’t think is possible unless you’re like…SG grade I think.
