i’m starting to get totally disheartened by online street fighter 4. is psn full of assholes in the u.s area? or is it just in europe?
i played about 6 people today and each of them were a problem one way or another.
first i played a ryu who just non stop spammed srk on block…to the point where i flash kicked him after srk 10 times in one round. i messaged him to explain it to him, only to get a “fuck ur mum, bitch” type reply out of him.
then i played a cammy who beat my bison by a pixel of life, then kicked me. got a message saying “don’t play laggy bitches, learn to play against cammy kk thanx”. there was no lag lol. this is one of those players who quits while they are ahead as soon as they know there are playing someone half decent.
after this, i played a very good ken who i barely beat with ryu named ahh-yeah-what. after the win, i got a message saying “shit scrub”, so i thought “fuck this ill pick guile”…at this point i am getting pissed off with people online today. i beat him first round, then set him up for a perfect but he rage quits while he’s dizzy. then of course i get the mandatory “f ur shit whore” and “shit whore son” messages.
then i played Xenogearsifm, a good player who was only using random select. i picked guile and only guile. i was 5-0 up and he decides to finally pick his main (bison). he beats me and then leaves as if to say “my main’s better than yours. i was only losing because i was playing random select” when in reality he had 5 games to work out my guile and then pick his main lol.
finally i play Ozymandias_rcl who picks rufus and abel and beats my ryu and guile both times. he’s very good. i stick with guile and he goes for gouken. again i dizzy him while still on perfect life and he rage quits. even though i had no problem taking his two wins on the chin, he can’t do the same for me. what a bitch.
so, in summary = psn europe is full of assholes.
the whole sf4 online is full of assholes man. to prove it just look @ the number of pages this thread have reached. TBH lag does make the game shitty but i still try to adapt cuz thats what is expected from online play. where there is competitive online play, there will be assholes
Oh, the assholes are not just specific to PSN. Last night, I was playing some ranked matches on XBL and it was a really bad night for me: my timing’s out of whack, nothing’s coming out and I’m getting beat left and right. Then I see a game from someone I recognized fighting before: IMAKEMUSCLES. I’d fought his Dhalsim before and, although he wasn’t crazy good, he did give me a lot of trouble and I had a hard time beating him the first couple of times we fought (though I did eke out a win by the end). So I decide, what the heck, I don’t see too many Sim players online, might as well practice against him. Mainly, I want to try and see if I can work on FA’ing his constant s.HP spams. It didn’t work out as planned and he beat me… Oh well.
A few minutes later I get a message from him. I expected it would be something sedate like “Finally beat you!” or some other platitude. Instead he sends me this: “Haha!”. To which I respond: “I agree, your level of play is rather laughable! :p” Note the use of the razzy smillie at the end and I’m thinking; that’s that. Nope! Next I get two more messages: “Ur weekness is dat U throw 2 much” (a referal to our two first encounters where I kept pressuring him after a knockdown and go for tick throws or empty jump throws) and “U suk. U need points” (as if points equal skills). So I responded back to him: “You talk too much… That’s yours” and “You’re an idiot. You need a brain (and a dictionary too while you’re at it)”.
Like seriously, I’m not that great with Akuma, but I’m not averse to trying stuff and losing. It’s part of the learning process. When I beat him, he had like 2500 BP and I only had around 1200 BP. Should I have done like him and gloat when I won? Why do people feel the need to thump their chests after a win? It’s not like he beat Momochi’s Akuma or anything. I did go to the trouble of finding him again and playing another match (which he won), but it’s not like I took it personally. Shit happens. You can’t expect to win every match you play and sometimes, even the scrubs can beat you on any given night (and I include myself in the scrub category). It’s just how it goes sometimes.
Just strange people online, really…
ammmm so y did you respond to his first message? was it worth it?. as i said before its competition to many even if the online play is laggy. and some people will always send msgs whether win or lose to make their selves look better than you.
Does anyone else have experience of “controlled” lag?
I often feel like lag pops up at very convenient times for some opponents, and to make matters worse, it is always the same three or four people.
They are on the attack, everything is fine. I pop them in the corner, game starts lagging like mad.
No idea if I am raging myself, or actually seeing something strange!
I actually tried experimenting with controlling lag, a torrent and some keyboard macros do in fact work, while being convenient enough.
I would just like to know if I am seeing ghosts or what.
i’m also sure that this shit happens to me quite often too. look, at the end of the day, if these guys are so desperate that they use some sort of lag switch in order to win, then you just have to take it on the chin. there is NOTHING that you can do about it.
from time to time i play demons souls online. a game where there seems to be a real comradery between the players. it has some competitive aspects too, but for the most part, everyone wants to help each other. i promise you super street fighter 4’s team battle and possible online training modes will bring some of that comradery to the game which it’s severely lacking at the moment.

in the past 2 days in the few sessions i’ve had, i’ve had 3 people ragequit on me. 2 of them were in a row 
i’m not even gonna bother taking pics of player match ragequits though, too many of em.
online is full of fucking jackasses and people who do that shit you just said Wikum. You either gotta get used to it or stop playing. It’s frustrating at time, but I have developed the habit to try and play while sitting far away from my table/Computer/a wall.
PS.: Your guile is super frustrating, so I understand why any scrub would ragequit on you. GGs xD
