Seconded, those guys are both total douchebags, you WILL NOT win a match against either of them. They’ll disconnect every time they’re in danger of losing. I can’t avoid RAISE DA DEAD strongly enough. No matter how i block him or neg review him on XBL after a match, i keep running into him.
I hate quitters, and used to never drop on purpose, but now my attitude when i meet somebody who i know is a dropper is just to disconnect on them even before the match gets started. I don’t care whether i win or lose as long as i get a good match, but there’s no point playing someone when you’re never going to see the end of the match, it’s just time wasted that you could have been playing someone else that you might have been able to learn something from. The worst is when you run into someone who’s got a 15-0 win record or whatever and you’re thinking “hmmm, fifteen zero…this should be a good match” and then you figure out that they suck, and they’re just disconnecting before they lose every time.
What gets me is the speed that some of these guys can disconnect. Sometimes it’s instant, like as soon as the match goes their way or they’re stunned in the last round or whatever, BAM, they drop instantly. Are these people actually sitting at home with switches and modified cables and yanking their connection as soon as things look bad for them in a match?:wonder:

Haha. I remember one time I got into a match with this guy with a 20-0 record. I thought to myself “WELL, TIME TO PRETTY THAT RECORD UP WITH A LOSS!!!”. It was RAISE DA DEAD and he quit on me. I hate that little cock sucker.

Anyways, whenever I see someone with a really good record, I just assume its someone like Tuco or RAISE DA DEAD. Don’t think I’ve ever run into someone on ranked with a really good undefeated record (best I’ve seen was Jiggly with 30 something and one or two losses) I need to rack up more ragequits from other players. Haven’t played HDR hardcore in months, though.
I dont understand why people care about records so much xbox live means nothing.
HDR should create an update for this game so as the only way for a rage quitter to quit a match early would be to shut off his xbox. And on top of that the player who got “rage quit” on should automatically be awarded with a win if he was up in the rounds played.
Maybe start a petition and send it over to Capcom? What do you guys think?

Exactly. There are loads of more important things any update could address, like move input bugs, corner reversal bugs, controller mapping glitches, akuma…
There is plenty of love for HDR in capcom among guys like s-kill and the like, just no support for it from an executive level. From a purely business point of view, HDR has shifted probably 95% of the units it will ever shift. Anybody who’s going to buy it in it’s current form already has, more or less, and there is absolutely no point in spending any more cash on coding for improvement of a game that won’t recoup the cash you spend through further sales or increased play time. It’s not that there’s no love for HDR there, i think it’s clear to a lot of people that it’s one of the best fighters capcom have ever put out, hell it’s my favourite fighter of all time, and one of the best games i’ve ever owned, despite it’s many remaining flaws, but it just doesn’t make sense to patch it again from a business point of view.
The only thing that will get capcom to patch HDR is the prospect of a new revenue stream coming from it, like a japan release, or a PC standalone version.
If they released it digitally in japan, or here but as a standalone disc on PC with some of the more serious issues fixed, and charged it at more than the $15 they priced the console versions at, that would be a different story. They would have to spend some cash to patch it and release a version 2, but they would recoup the cost because of the new revenue they’d get. I own HDR already, and would have no problem at all buying it again at a $30-40 price point for a patched version on a platform that will live on, rather than one that will die out in 3 to 4 years like the xbox/ps3 will.
That would be worth getting a petition together for, but the problem is there are already loads of scatered online petitions with a few hundred posts here and there looking for a new patch. One more of those is never going to make capcom change it’s mind.
A lot of people play ranked because it’s quick access to a decent standard of player in a 1 on 1 room without having to queue for ages to get a game. The fact that it has a score card attached to it is totally secondary for me. I just play ranked when all i can find in player room searches are 6 player best out of 5 rooms, or guys in japan with +400ms connections. The actual scoring is irrelevant to me, the quick access to players on a selectable connection speed is what i’m after, and it pisses me off when i find one and he drops out like a scrub because he’s afraid of losing.
You should come back. The scrubs have thinned out a little bit, it’s more serious players now and less noobies. Player lobbies are the place to be for good players lately. Ranked play has taken a dive and has lots of akuma scrus, but you can usually find a good player room if you’ve got plenty of people on your friends list.

I have a lot of the good US/CAN east coast guys on there and most of the better europeans if your connection stretches that far. I’m online quite a bit, you’re welcome to join a game if you see me.
They talk about it like its not a big thing to cheat, so yeah they probably have some way of instantly dcing just before they lose. Like a dc switch lol
Very true on both systems. I believe competition has improved quite a bit. I forgot who said this on the forum but in almost every game, the good players always stay behind while the scrubs move on.
I wouldn’t mind paying for version 2 for HDR. Im willing to pay $60 for it, its my favorite game & the only game i play.
I really dont care about rank but it would been cool if they put a character ranking like they did for Hyper Fighting…It was cool to see yourself rank top 5 with Gief, that was my only motivation to play rank.

It is funny to hear you talk about rage quitting, considering the fact that you have Rage quit on me previously with your blanka. Even sometimes before the match started. I admit you have gotten much better at the game since we first started playing, but still, there is a reason I have your Tag on avoid player.

I got rage quitted on by some that infamous Rambo guy!!! I kinda baited the rage quit by throwing more often with Ryu(someone who’s not my main) and Sho Nuff! I got the rage quit in the third round. I’ll tell yall the hate messages I got in the appropriate thread.
MK Ryu Joshua 96. I played for dictator for the first time ever tonight. I fought him, he was guile. I won and he quit on the last blow. I was paired against him and this time he was Sagat. He played Sagat like a rushdown character strangely enough. Sadly he beat me that time. (like i said, first ever time as dictator.)
