I get way too many rage quitters to list. Sooner or later when I find my damn camera charger I’ll record some videos XD. They are amusing to say the least.
BL4CKBIRD
Maybe not just because i’ve beaten his claw with Honda lol, but because he often ragequits.
M4ST4RF
integrale Tuco
In fairness, I get an urge to ragequit every time I see play your Gief because its pretty much a three and out.
Well, thank you very much, good sir.
Yeah, evoanon is good at reading his opponent. That always makes for a scary Zangief!
Its not as bad if you set matches up for 3 rounds needed to win a match instead of just 2, its quite frustrating to not be able to learn your opponent before you lose. Thats pretty much the only time i enjoy fighting gief(love playing with him though) but IMO its not a good idea to have 2 mains so i stick fei as ive been doing since ST. Fighting a good gief is a difficult win but a gief that spams 360 gets destroyed because its so easy to guess what they are going to do everytime. My best advice to you against those who spam 360’s is dont screw up jump in combos if you ever decide to be bold enough to try this with a character. If you use dictator all i feel for you is pity. Only one move is required to win and thats the d:hp: body splash.
Edit: If you ever want to make a zangief player ragequit, pick ken and spam standing :hk: and mix it up rarely because this one move is that effective against him. Losing to one move sucks but ive had that happen plenty of times i.e HADOUKEN!!! But Fei is a real man so he fights with fist of fury not dbz handmotion fireballs lol.
Also even though gief is bad against most characters most people do not have the patience to fight him, and go for rash and horrible moves instead of a stable strategy which they probably know. Using Gief is fun, fighting Gief is boring nuff said. ummm also oops i totally thought it just said you want to ragequit everytime you have to fight A zangief.
This.
Y’know, when I first got “proficient” with Ken (at a level where I could win consistently online), Gief was the character that people counterpicked the most (above Vega, DeeJay and Hawk). At first, I HATED that match up because I had to play defense for the entire duration of the match. Maining Ken, this was pretty unorthodox for me and I just got frustrated every time I had to fight Gief. But as more and more people began to counterpick, I started getting better as well. Now, I thoroughly enjoy the match and consider it to be one where I can be the most offensive. I LOVE rushing Giefs down and forcing them into the corner. Then, just for irony’s sake, I throw late meaty fireballs and follow up throw (not knee bash) which is pretty satisfying.
But Evo’s Gief is just ridiculous. He won’t let me get away with any of my B.S.
you know that gief who spams 360…
it’s me :< reckon i have some 100 more losses than wins for a reason
anywho, i hate gief mirror matches. players like evoanon eat people like me for breakfast.
yeah why dont we all report blackb1rd so he gets banned.
im tired of playing him multiple times and having to quit the first match and get rage mail for leaving from him(like he wasnt going to quit when i destroy his “cheap” character)
i know he will get banned if enough people report him.Ive been banned from XBOX LIVE for trash talking in CoD4 for months at a time.
(he can make a new name, but itll be useless to play ranked matches)
hmm no complaints about me?
caught one on video, second ever sf2 video ive ever recorded too.

gt- KEEP OUT
im not “good” at the game by any means so expect to see me whiffing 360’s a lot
Blackbird plays Claw. Are you calling Claw cheap or Blackbird cheap good sir?
You’re definitely good at doing the SPD on reaction, all you need to do is work on your tick setups. And BTW - that was a horrible Fei. Technically you could SPD almost every chicken wing if you wanted to He was practically feeding himself to the wolves. And Fei has the st. fierce which kills Zangief, though that moron didn’t even use it.
Nice vid, givez us moar!!!
EDIT: The part where you said “Bison scares the shit outta me” cracked me up.
not callin anyone cheap, that seems to be his favorite word when he messages me.
no kidding, aside from the bison i recorded, practically EVERY SINGLE BISON I FIGHT is way above my league skill wise and utterly obliterates me. and really, i don’t know the matchup too well since hardly anybody picks him.
but i reckon ill record more later, really i just want to get the following on video since i think it would look cool.
vs any fireball character, green hand through the projectile to be in point blank range…then super. been practicing in training mode, and well, the 720 is REALLY HARD to do in this game in comparison to say…blazblue or sf4.
haru tejyo and kuroppi are the only Giefs I’ve played (recently) who aren’t boring.
There are several good Zangiefs out there (evoanon is certainly one of them), but most of them are textbook defensive.
Bison should be one of the easiest fights for Gief. He has little defense against tick throws, except the Devil’s reverse. Most Bison’s don’t even do it.
Here are a few things you should know when using Gief vs Bison: (FYI)
Jump MP beats his head stomp attempts
Just block the devil reverse attempts, unless you see him landing square on top of you (mistake) then you can lariat
Psycho Crushers you can lariat him out of, duck+jab, block then sweep him after he lands, or block then SPD if he ends up near you
If you know they’re going to throw out a Super and you’re around sweeping distance just duck+block and when he GOES OVER YOU after his second flip you can SPD him after the super attempt
The list goes on for what you can do to beat most Dictators.
The really good ones will zone you out with standing forwards and roundhouses and will never miss a crossover TOD… :-\
example: zaspacer, SLKVIC or atonalism ^^^
i appreciate the advice, bisons have been giving me hell, and with so few playing, it’s hard to really figure out what’s going on. the lariat thing will definitely help out against people who simply just spam psycho crusher, at least i know the counter now.
but uhh, what ive bolded in the quite infuriates me into I AM SO TEMPTED INTO RAGEQUITTING. i mean, i can’t even get in when they do that, no matter what i try the people who can zone like that pretty much autowin against me. it’s like, i can’t counterpoke, i can’t jump in, hop doesn’t work, what other options are there? but ill stop, this is a bit off topic for this particular thread.
Sorry for offtopicness XD.
Options:
-You can counter poke with a well placed standing forward yourself.
-Try a Lariat + move forward to get through his standing forward kick and when you come out of the lariat do a SPD. Beware as they will wise up and start to SLIDE if you do this a lot.
-Try a kick lariat (fast one) to bait out their slide and block low + SPD on recovery.
-AFTER trying some of these they won’t have only one option for your advance and it’ll give you more of a chance to land a jumping attack into SPD or sweep… then greenhand for distance + tick throw from there.
Mix these up and sooner or later you’ll knock him down and you can tick them to death :).
Also if you’re ahead on damage you can sit back and make them come to you, rather than them reacting to your charge. At this point the previous post lets you counter most everything they’ll do to you :).
For more advice on this, try the Zangief thread :).
/offtopicness
I’d like to add in the following people as ragequitters.
- MASTA F: well known but still wants to talk smack even after losing
- psypas: same as above
- ShytStorm808: calls me garbage after losing to me… lol… talk about sore loser
This may be just me but I’ve noticed something.
People in player matches are rather gentlemenly about losing.
People in ranked matches take it too serious, talk sh*#, and disconnect way earlier.
Am I alone on this?
