Im really surprised with how many people are hating on black people. wasnt but 40 years ago when things were finally changing for people of color and yet we still have problems. But we are playing the victim. Black people are the only people who get judge by the actions of a few. White person shoots up a school a church, that person has problems. Black person does it, THEY ARE DANGEROUS. LOOK STATS BLACK PEOPLE KILL.
But we dont look at how states still have Confederate flags waving in the air, even though those were once used as tools to scare and oppress blacks. We dont talk about banks charging higher interests for minorities. Jewelers calling the cops on black people wanting to purchase jewelry, black people getting shot by random people for wearing a hoodie while holding candy. But yea we are just playing the victim.
No matter what race you are there are stupid people who do stupid things so why do we only judge a couple of races by the actions of a few. Im only in my 30s but I have seen quite a bit of racism and surprise surprise Asians can be racist too. I have been followed in stores, watched hassled for doing nothing but being black. But here is the kicker I used to think that damn there most Asians hated black people, but then I visited and am now living in an Asian country and guess what no one is scared of me, no one follows me in the store, and I (and the other black people here) dont do anything wrong and all is good. We are treated equally and its pretty fucking sad that we have to leave our countries to feel that. If we are discriminated against its for being a foreigner not black,
Haha, this so much. White people do crime, get called lone wolves. Black people do crime and all across the globe get associated with whoever black individual committed whatever crime, and are all called thugs, welfare cases, etc. Notice how no other races start beating/harrassing the shit out of white people after their horrible crimes, yet black people are somehow âthe most racist peopleâ. Yeah. We mustâve started those murderous hate groups, racist websites, âwhite onlyâ schools, restaurants all the way down to fucking drinking fountains. Weâre the ones burning down churches. Yeah. That is entirely a black person thing to do.
Yesterday in my city (Toronto) a Muslim woman picking up her kid from school was beaten by two white males. Did she attack Paris? Do these two guys have information the rest of us donât? Or is it⊠something elseâŠ?
Iâve responded to everything you responded to about me, and after me just responding to you youâve yet to explain exactly what I said that was racist.
Prejudices?? Guess what? EVERYONE has prejudices; its imprinted on us through day to day life.
You wanna know what my prejudice of white people are? That theyâll see me as being rude or just uncultured simply for being black because of stuff they see on the news or WSHH. Because of that, I find myself actively thinking of being respectful and nice around them. While I hold the door open for anyone, regardless of race ,gender or age, I find myself actively thinking to do so if the person behind is white.
Youâre confounding what having prejudice and being racist is. If you dare say you donât have prejudices, youâre lying through your teeth. At this point Iâm inclined to think you just didnât like what I said, and with you being white it struck a nerve regardless of the fact that as you say you arenât like those people.
Regardless of facts and history that you love so much, stating said facts and history is apparently racist. Hence, said person must be racist.
PS: People snip when they know posts are going to be obscenely long, and they donât want irritate people as its known to doâŠ
This might surprise you, but different people have different upbringings. It also helps that I donât live in a country that makes racism and xenophobism their national sport.
You still need clues why youâre racist? For two posts now you act like white people view black people as uneducated, rude or âsub-humanâ. Thatâs your view of white people. Imbeciles who canât see past other peopleâs skin color and judge themselves superior to others.
Me being white as nothing to do with how I act towards others. Should I feel superior to other white people because they can tan and Iâm pale as fuck?
"Regardless of facts and history that you love so much, stating said facts and history is apparently racist. Hence, said person must be racist."
Another strawman argument? I donât even know how to answer this one without laughing at you, since I also wrote about history and facts here. By your words, which are void of any logic, Iâm calling myself a racist too.
Post after post you reach for something new after you get embarassed each time.
I get what you are saying but if you live in a different country its hard for you to completely understand. I mean you can empathize and stuff but for you to fully understand you kinda have to be in it. And its the same for everyone I thought I knew a lot about Japan until I moved here.
As for white people seeing blacks as uneducated some people have that view just like some people are racist. No one can say all people feel that way.
The fact that you arenât from the U.S. should have been the end of this discussion or at least should have been completely different. I hadnât known that; and you never made that clear.
Iâm sitting here posting facts about the U.S. country and history and how that history still effects race relations in this country today and you have NO idea what iâm talking about. I continually made it clear that I was talking about the U.S. and you kept responding like you knew what I was talking about.
Thatâs not a racist view that I just made up in my head; thatâs a sad and terrible fact of the United Statesâ history. And as our country changed, a significant portion did everything they could to try to keep it that way. In reference to the present I can say confidently that sadly of the little over 300 million people in this country, there are a couple million that still hold those views either openly or hidden (even in positions of power) and they continue to pass that on to their youth.
Youâre talking about how Iâm getting embarrassed and how you despise stupidity, but you were literally ignorant (in the very definition of the word) to everything I referenced and said in my posts dude.
All you had to do is say you werenât from the U.S. and this interaction would have been completely different since you didnât know what I was talking about.
Also your upbringing has nothing to do with whether or not you have prejudices. All people have them and theyâre unconsciously formed, whether theyâre positive, negative or other.
Cut the bullshit. You talked about how white people view black people as sub-human. Not how white people who live in the USA view black people as sub-human.
I responded to that particular sentence and that particular sentence ONLY. You then pulled a new strawman argument in each and every post you made after I wrote that.
Each and every post you make you pull another argument out of your ass to justify your posts instead of acting like a normal person and admit you were wrong.
1-You accused me of being antagonistic when I actually ackowledged what you were talking about
2- You antagonized me despite me agreeing with you and then took offense at me talking to other people⊠which shouldâve been clear that I was doing since I fucking ackowledged what you wrote
3- You talked as if I had no idea what you were talking about several times and suddenly in another post you ackowledged I did knew what I was talking about, thus proving you merely were antagonizing me.
4- You acted as if I accused you of saying that ALL white people where racists.
5- You then go on assuming that I was one of the morons that says #AllLivesMatter
6- You place several words on my mouth and try to paint me as an idiot who thinks black people are hated because black people are racist
You kept making up new shit every time to prove a point you never had at anytime in this thread.
The conversation shouldâve been over in the first post I quoted, where I ackowledged what YOU wrote. Instead you created a new argument in every post you made while ignoring what I was writing. I assumed you ignored it, because I refuse to believe someone could be that stupid and not have died already because they forgot to breathe in their sleep.
And no, not everyone is prejudiced towards others. Not everyone is an asshole. I treat others in the way they treat me. I donât care if itâs a man, a woman, white, black, yellow or whatever the hell their color or nationality is. If youâre good to me, Iâll be good to you. If youâre an asshole to me, Iâll be an asshole to you.
Thatâs because thatâs not how itâs supposed to be used. You would tell a someone to check their privilege if theyâd just said something very ignorant (and, for example, racist) that spoke to their own privilege and their lack of awareness of it. Itâs got nothing to do with feeling oppressed in a situation.
This is how you ended your first response to me in this thread, and yet you wanna tell me thatâs how you state your agreement with people?
This is the post that you first responded to me about:
I shouldnât have to reference the USA when replying to the guy I was responding to before you decided to interject yourself into the conversation BECAUSE HE LIVES IN THE FUCKING US!!
It was a conversation between me and him about black people and black culture IN THE US!!
And again you prove you have no idea what the true definition of a prejudice is. You somehow think its exclusively linked to calling someone names or harassing based on whatever factor. You donât even have to speak or interact with a person to have a prejudice.
But yea go ahead, keep telling yourself youâre somehow impenetrable to something all other humans arenâtâŠ
Read nÂș2. Just rea⊠you know what? Youâre right and I was wrong.
Nearly two pages of going in circles talking to an imbecile while repeating myself over and over. You were right I was wrong.
I did read number 2 and read your first response to me in this thread:
Please stop acting like Iâm missing something. What did I miss or didnât know that you would think you had to end your post with the bolded? If all this is about what I said about white people in the USA, then learn our history if you want to have a conversation about it. Read the websites and blogs from people in the US about how in the present day our government (largely and primarily white) continues to systematically oppress minorities in this country.
What I posted about white people isnât a racist concoction, its the truth about the history and present day of my country. No Iâm not talking about all white people, but the guy who I was talking inherently knew that the same way I knew he wasnât calling ALL black people racist as he was making his point as it pertains to the U.S.
I like how youâre flabbergasted but you canât answer to the fact that you didnât know from the beginning that the conversation pertained to the U.S.A.
Thatâs VERY important nuance and context to the conversation I was having with that guy, but you never address that fact ANYTIME when you respond to me. Just freaking admit you didnât know already, my goodness.
If you donât want to acknowledge that, you just continue to keep speaking from the outside looking in; thatâs always easier to do.
What if we ALL feel like weâre being picked on because every race deals with racism, and the only time we hear about it from reliable sources is when itâs our friends who are typically the same skin color as us?
The only problem with your epiphany is that some of us have been feeling this through generations in our families. And some of us still live in a place were they are systematic problems in place that dont allow us to truly be equal. But Im glad you had that epiphany.
Iâve grown tired. Tired of seeing you reaching for something new every time. Tired of you not reading whatâs placed in front of you several times. Tired of you deflecting anything written towards your posts with nonsense that wasnât even the thing we were talking about.
Iâm not going to write for the hundreth time what my post was directed at. Iâm not going to write again that the word âyouâ can also be used for a group of people. Iâm not going to point out again that if I ackowledged what you wrote on my very first post, the part where I wrote â⊠you can ackowledge blah blahâŠâ was directed at another group of people and not you (2nd person).
Instead Iâm just going to say you were right and I was wrong.
What if itâs not just some people, but ALL people who feel this way?
Anyway, I donât really care to argue the point and, given the length and friendly nature of your reply, you donât either. I would like to hear more about these systematic problems some people face if you havenât covered them already.
I spent a good 10 minutes clicking between Off-Topic, WTF, and Disagree, because I canât choose which one fits, and thereâs no GTFO button.
#BlackLivesMatter at this point exudes racism against white people under the guise of Social Justice. Shit, itâs clear you havenât left the country. I have been singled out and discriminate against based on my skin color, as a white person, in Korea and China multiple times. Your blanket statement doesnât fit at all, and even a modified statement doesnât fucking work.
Seriously, youâre a fucking moron. There, now Iâve been âsocially unjustâ to you. Maybe you can PM @iantothemax about it and heâll write an article about it for the front page.
Why is it a problem to focus on separate instances of racism separately?
#BlackLivesMatter is a specific movement focused on the specific problem of racism against black people in the USA.
âThe only social justice movement I will approve of is one of universal humanitarianism, and I will expect this movement to address all problems in an effective manner!â
Where the hell did I even say that was a problem? Donât try to spin my words to something that wasnât even remotely close to being said. Itâs not, however, this is an erroneous statement, the one that follows:
Not any more. Not at least from my viewpoint, where they are saying âFuck Parisâ in the name of this movement. Itâs basically black Americaâs answer to the Klan, only instead of horses and hoods they have keyboards and hashtags.
At this point, if the intent was that black lives are important too, that is not how it has evolved, and it is now âBlack lives matterâŠand thatâs the only ones,â judging by the vitriol being spewed on Twitter.
Is there a racial profiling problem in America? Yes. But that happens in other places as well. Do black people have a hard time? Yes, but I would also say that there is a certain level of culpability to self-perpetuating their plight that people just simply donât want to admit to. Do black lives matter? Yes, but all lives matter. People trying to marginalize the atrocities and injustices of the world at large to say one is more important is fucking dumb. Period.
