If you activate V-Trigger during the startup animation of her dropkick (before she leaves the ground), she’s left unable to charge it, and you can punish the resulting non fully charged dropkick.
As for other ways to stuff dropkick, I can’t find one that doesn’t result in me getting crush countered some of the time. I think the best one might be cr.hp because of it’s active frames but it’s risky due to the start up. Then after that it’s probably st.mk. V-Skill into scissors/super is nice too but it’s much more susceptible to getting crush countered than the previous 2 options.
Her S.LP has 3 frame start up +2 on block.
S.MP 7 frame start up and is -2 on block.
S.HP 7 frame start up and is -6 on block.
S.MK 8 frame start up and -3 on block.
S.HK 12 frame start up and is -4 on block.
Charged S.HK 35 frame start up and is +2 on block.
C.LP is 3 frame start up and is +1 on block.
C.HK has a 12 frame stat up and is between -12 and -4 on block.
C.HP has 11 frame start up and is between -5 and 0 on block. Mika has to space this to hit on the last frame to effectively gain frame advantage due to her 3 frame lights. Its difficult for her to do this, best bet is to use one of your lights and cancel into blast to space her away.
Her Dive Bomb move can be punished on block is at least -7.
Passion Press (Clap) is -2 on block, so use a light cancel into blast to push her away.
If she whiff the corner throw part because you blocked she will have to go throw 38 frames of recovery. Punish as heavily as you can.
Lady Mika (F+HP) is +3 on block. This is Mika’s corner trap move that juggles attempted jump aways. Due to push back Mika can only follow this up with EX. Rainbow Typhoon which will at least throw you out of the corner. Blocking is good if Mika has no meter.
Its best to stand block against Mika. She has a unique normal throw that only works on crouches. Of all her normal throws this is the only one that gives her meaty pressure. The rest leave her out of throw range and she will be at frame disadvantage if she dashes in. The reason why stand blocking is good is because it eliminates this option for Mika and her low normals aren’t that dangerous. C.LK only does 20 damage and doesn’t lead to anything so eating one or two of these is better than eating that throw . She’s unlikely going to use C.HK at such close range. Everything else she has can be blocked high.
Her back throw allows her to do a meaty HP.Shooting Peach and its only -3 on block. Don’t over commit on a punish on this.
Shooting Peach,
Light is -7 on block.
The rest are all at least -10 on block.
Ex.Version has armor from frame 3. Free to meaties and throwable.
Her V-Reversal is a pain in the ass. She dashes after this she’s +1 on your recovery. Meaning your in mix up hell.
I’ve fought a mika main yesterday, I lost the first 3 set but I win the last 3.
The thing is I didn’t think I learn anything from those matches, it still feel clunky to fight against mika.
any suggestion on how I can improve myself in the matchup against r. mika?
huge thanks:D
