That feeling you get when you fight a Ryu, he backdashes away, pops V-Trigger, and you call Nadeshiko and hit him out of his charged Hadouken.

Best match ender.

Anyway, I forgot to test something about her V-Trigger. Previously, someone said it was nerfed and that Nadeshiko won’t come out if you hit Mika before Nadeshiko spawns. Did anyone check the specifics of this? I’m pretty sure I got hit once before she came out (using the delayed version of the attack), but she came out and hit the opponent regardless. Wondering if either the nerf was misreported, or if it only applies if you stuff Mika right after the activation. Or if I’m senile.

was anyone able to see if you could do S.HK charged (hit), walk forward, link s.mp? In the previous beta I was able to find you could get st.HK Charged (they block), st mp hit (or CH), walk forward, link st HP xx peach. Walk forward was necessary otherwise you couldn’t link it, hopefully that is still in, but curious if you can also apply the walk forward on a charged st.HK that hits.

I think this is false because I went for a tick, command grab setup of s.Strong xx neutral V-trigger and then s.Jab/Command grab and the Ryu player I fought mashed Super and I got hit but he got hit by Nadeshiko during his recovery.

Anyone find any reason to use s.Strong~f/b.Strong midscreen anymore? You can’t do back dash to get the wall bounce and extend your combo. I sort of remember that you could do b.Strong into something in phase 2 but not sure if you can do something off of that in yesterdays stress test build. I’m also not sure if there’s any good setups off of it. I’ve seen some people go for qcf+K after wards to close the distance and maintain positional advantage or use the stumble state for safe v-skill. Personally, I’d rather go for s.Strong, s.Fierce xx Fierce Peach for the damage and better positioning.

s.Short~Strong TC seems like it has improved range because it was reaching at almost max ranged charge s.RH for me so it felt really consistent if you hit it. The new corner reset seems to be s.Strong~f.Strong, f+Fierce, cr.Strong and then do whatever. You can’t get a cross under reset but I think you’re at + frames after wards. You could go for a cross up j.Short if the respect the mix up enough otherwise they can hold up and you’ll clip them for an air reset but lose positional advantage.

For the most part I find most of her changes are fair because she was pretty ridiculous in beta phase 2. The one change I don’t like is that her non-charged s.RH crush counter causes a launch. Her only other crush counter is f+Fierce and that also launches. Against a blocked DP you don’t have enough time to get a full charge s.RH to really punish them. I couldn’t really find a good crush counter combo that did more damage then s.Strong, s.Fierce xx something so it looks like I have to sacrifice damage if I want the v-gauge on a blocked DP.

Yes it cancels, but only if Mika gets hit literally in the very first frame of recovery. Nadeshiko spawns very fast.

That’s not so bad then. If someone’s close enough to stuff the activation immediately then they’re close enough to throw you and dodge Nadeshiko anyway.

If you have V-meter, you might be able to earn a level 2 Mic Performance by doing a delayed V-Trigger post Irish Whip. The threat of Nadeshiko might make them scared enough to stay back while you charge up. Depends on the character, the player, and which delayed Nadeshiko you use. Mind games!

I really love the Mic mechanic, so I try really hard to find legit ways to use it. It’s tough, though. I hope they tweak it a little more to make it slightly more worthwhile.

I liked doing CC f+HP, dash forward, cr. HP for an ambiguous cross under reset. This one doesn’t seem as exploitable as the old corner reset, since it requires CC and it doesn’t lead back into itself. But, it’s still really good.

The side switch with b+MP is good if that’s the closer corner, and you can combo into sweep before they get thrown too far. Since you can V-Trigger cancel the sweep, it might be useful to do a delayed activation while maintaining close proximity to the opponent to keep them pressured. I’m not sure if you can combo the instant neutral V-Trigger after the sweep in that combo, if you can it could be useful for that tiny bit of extra damage for closing out a round.

If you call Nadeshiko she will come out regardless if Mika got hit. Only difference is that depending on how she got hit (I.E. with a super or command grab) the opponent will not get hit out. Or let’s say you call Nadeshiko from the right side and the opponent moves closer to the left a little over mid-screen, that’s when Nadeshiko will whiff.

That’s a waste. You can reset them with Passion Press which immediately puts them in a scary situation. Banking on the idea of ā€œThey’ll be afraid because of the buffed grab now.ā€ Is not a great way of doing things. I mean, you could do her AA Grab but it doesn’t do as much damage when compared to Typhoon or the Grab Super. EX Typhoon’s damage after one buff from V-Skill was about 35%.

Point is: if you nailed them with Passion Press then do a combo or reset them. Don’t push them towards the corner just to do V-Skill.

And her grabs aren’t amazing. They can all be jabbed out (excluding Grab super of course) and they all have horrible recovery.

One thing I forgot to mention: this might be a placebo but I don’t think it is. It feels like it’s easier to land LP Peach after cr.LK, cr.LP. The cr.LK, cr.LP, LP Peach combo was kind of a bitch to do in Beta 2 because she has to be practically right next to them, right inside their asshole, or LP Peach will whiff. It seemed like in the Stress Test that it only whiffed if you tried to combo at the absolute max range.

How do ya figure all this shit out???

Infinite Beta.

I know I’m a month late, but we really need to make some noise and frankly demand that they remove this silly censorship from the game.

Anyone know the most effective route? How can we email Capcom, basically where can I complain lol. I can’t believe Combofiend would let this happen, he should be ashamed of himself.

Shut up.

Did you test EX peach vs a meaty jab on wake up or just from neutral?

Couldn’t really test that in the Stress Test. I was able to do EX Peach on wakeup and it beat (I think) Ryu’s cr.MK.

So if i understand this correctly Capcom has pretty much reduced the damage output that Mika does on her combos via removing combos and reducing damage on some moves ( I noticed that throws are pretty much the same) and they also nerfed her wakeup options in general. While this does suck, i feel that she is more fair along the rest of the cast now.

I was hoping that Capcom would have brought all the other to her previous level but ofcourse they brought her down to theirs. I still think she will be a possible top tier character overall.

So who do you guys see as potential Bad matchups ?

I think that Chun-Li is probably going to be one. I can also see Vega being annoying ( Maybe even but annoying). I can honestly see Gief beating her now ( He can V-Skill the Charged HK easily, out damage her by a lot now, he own the air and his light SPD have great range and he have excellent normals overall). I don’t know about FANG. If they buffed Nash’s anti-air game then it could easily end up being a bad matchup.

PS. Does anyone one actually understand what Mika says during her rainbow typhoon/ giant swing ? I think she says " Soft girl " but i an not sure.

They greatly improved t.HP by giving it more blockstun and less pushback on block. And st.HK (uncharged) got a Buff and Nerf in that if it CC’s she can no longer do a Passion Press combo, but now the CC pops them into the air in slow mo and allows you to do either MP or EX Peach or reset them.

j.LK may have had a change in it’s hitbox as a crossup. And cr.LK, cr.LP, LP Peach seems to hit consistently from a slight distance unlike in Beta 2.

Her t.MK got a range reduction which makes her Passion Press reset slightly harder to capitalize from.

I don’t think she’ll have much in the way of bad matchups. She has tools for every situation. The characters I think will definitely have bad matchups are: Bison, Dhalsim, and maybe Gief.

Do her command grabs have any immunities on startup, as is usual for grapplers (strike/throw)? Both normal and EX versions. I realized I’m not quite sure how it is with her…or in general, never played grapplers that much in SF games to remember.

And I see conflicting info on the net.
