That’s okay.
Discretion will be advised among other R. Mika players. Don’t over rely on EX Shooting Peach, even on wake up. Just use it to finish some combos or catch opponents whiffing too much within 1 to 2 character ranges…
EDIT:
Got back on computer instead of using a phone.
Those Nadeshiko combos look really awesome. I guess it’ll ultimately be a choice of ‘do I go for bigger damage to finish’ or ‘do I go for the mix up’. Probably based on what your opponent’s health is at
I think if Nadeshiko doesn’t open up a new combo route then its probably not worth it unless it kills. Like if you can confirm from shooting peach into a combo then i think its worth it, but in those combos he was just doing standard combos you could do anyway.
There is some benefit in cancelling moves into v-trigger for the cancel property (without nadeshiko, but in that case i still think it would be better to hold onto nadeshiko and finish your combo.
The special thing about R.Mika’s neutral V-Trigger is that it OTGs. The video posted early only shows mid-combo, tacking on additional damage applications.
Combofiend was using the neutral V-Trigger to OTG Mike Ross and finish with Wingless Airplane back during when she was first announced. Instead of calling neutral Nadeshiko instantly mid-combo, he would use the delayed neutral Nadeshiko and time his combo for her to either OTG or reset Mike Ross in the middle of a combo for true combo extensions and reset opportunities.
These types of set ups would need time in the lab to discover, something you wouldn’t be able to test out too much during special event casual matches. The V-Trigger combos look like butt now because they’re not being used to their full potential.
2 more weeks until we get our hands on her in the lab and can truly unlock her V-Trigger possibilities.
EDIT:
At 7:40, Combofiend uses a mid combo delayed Nadeshiko to set up a reset. After Nadeshiko hits, Combofiend resets with s.LP and immediate jumps for the mix up.
At 9:40, Combofiend uses the same mid combo delayed Nadeshiko but instead of resetting, he goes right into Wingless Airplane for the combo finisher.
What we’re looking at here is that the delayed Nadeshiko activation is just long enough to fit in a s.HP xx EX Shooting Peach and have Nadeshiko hit while the opponent is airborne from the ass bump part of the EX Shooting Peach. This can either be followed up with damage or a reset.
Has anyone broken down how Nadeshiko works exactly?
So you can hold HP+HK down for a maximum of 3 seconds and release at any time to control when she comes out?
If that’s the case I want to know how Combofiend did s.HP xx HP+HK, s.HP xx EX Peach, release HP+HK. The one combo that’s always confused the fuck out of me since he would’ve already had to release the first time to do a second s.HP.
Probably been answered way back so sorry if it’s widely known already.
Not during the flash, but leading up to the flash. By the time the flash happens, it’s locked in which one you activated.
When you tap HPHK to get instant Nadeshiko, the animation flash will show R.Mika pointing only one arm at the sky.
When you hold HPHK to get delayed Nadeshiko, the animation flash will show R.Mika pointing both of her arms at the sky.
It’s a visual confirmation to the player to show which timing they used, and it’s a visual warning for the opponent to figure out when they should be expecting Nadeshiko to pop out.
Got a good amount of playtime with Mika, heres some quick impressions.
Really, really amazing normals that offer alot of movement. Even her light attacks seem to have like twice the range as other characters.
cr mp is good anti air. Not as good as birdies as characters can slip behind it on cross ups, but still very good.
EX rekka is easily punished by DPs on block (or anything really). Its very similar to sf4 vanilla giefs EX green hand in function. Good oki afterwards too.
EX command grab is really good as a reversal. It was difficult to tell whether or not it actually beats meaties clean or if people were just mistiming their meaties, but it definately scoops people out of block strings in true grappler fashion. Its quite bad for pressure though as it tosses them too far away for any real follow ups.
Her v-trigger Nadeshiko is way more useful as a combo tool than as a mixup. The mixups with it just arent tricky enough to warrant using it that way and giving up the huge combo potential, but the option is still there for something desperate which is great.
Her v-skill is just abysmal, i would say without a doubt the worst in the game. Theres no way to cancel it, the shortest possible animation for it is about 3.5-4 seconds long. If you use it against a fireball for example, theres enough time for them to recover and just simply jump in combo you in the face. I have no idea what they were thinking with this. I cant imagine any situation coming up where this will ever be usable.
Her super is fantastic, cannot jump after screen freeze AND its comboable. Her ex moves are so useful that you rarely ever have meter to use this though.
Once more people get time with her there will be set ups that are discovered that allow you to get a clean lvl1 V-Skill charge. I can almost guarantee that’s why her HCB+K Command Grab throws them so far away. In addition to side swapping, it puts them far enough away that I imagine you could throw up a V-Skill buff really quick before they have time to get all the way to you after they wake up. Think Elena’s Healing set ups in USF4; very rarely will you ever get the full heal but there are tons of set ups for partial heals.
The HCB+P Command Grab, on the other hand, keeps them on the same side AND leaves you right next to them for pressure set ups. It does less damage but getting that positioning can be potentially more useful depending on the flow of the round.
Once again, it all comes down to lab time. 2 more weeeeeeeeeeeeeks!
Can anyone in the know verify her command list? I just want to make sure that I properly understand the footage, in preparation for the beta.

Yeah that sounds about right. The F+MP does have a followup with either another f+MP or B+MP ( The irish whip move). There is also a very underused body splash jumping attack, i assume the command is like Gief’s D+HP while jumping. Then there is the st.Lk into st.MP target combo.
