R.Mika General Thread: She's Stone Cold

During the Beta, did anyone run up against any Sims?? I really have no idea what to do in that matchup.

I ran against a few and beat all of them. They weren’t very good and fell apart every single time I got in. I was liberal with the use of c.HP because it would beat his limbs clean and allow me a way in.

I did but I don’t think he was very good. I just sort of advanced with charged st.HK when out of his distance, dashed when he did special movies, and jumped when I though it was doing a ground normal.

But I couldn’t honestly say what a good strategy is.

Hi, Just got approved a second ago lol. Nice to meet you all!

Played a lot of R.Mika in the last beta and I used a lot of cross-up Nadeshiko setup that worked like 95% of the time.
I tried to watch other Mika players but didn’t find anyone who use something like this.

Here is the highlight of my rank matches which have a lot of f.HP and cross-up Nadeshiko…

cr.HP - backward Nadeshiko - MK.Wingless Airplane will resulted in cross up attack from Nadeshiko. And if the range is right, you can also combo into f.HP + Ex Wingless for really good damage. Your opponents will be caught in Wingless Airplane if they try to jump and reversal Shoryuken will whiff.

You can also do cr.HP - forward Nadeshiko - cr.LK - f.HP - Ex Wingless for non cross up combo. So this is legit 50/50 mixup anyway even when your opponent know how to block the cross-up one.

You’re gonna fit in great here. Glad to have helpful new comers to the forum.

I ran into about 4 Sims and beat one. I was getting spaced out like crazy. And I wasnt able to Anti air grab his floaty jump or v-skill. Not sure if it was timing on my part, but it seem’ed like I flew right through him. I think good Sims are going to be a problem.

I’m currently in a character crisis, not knowing who to main. Currently I’m considering Ryu/Chun but Mika looks interesting to me once I started seeing some more videos of people playing her. You literally have the exact play style I’d use if I played Mika. It reminds me so much of 3S Makoto’s mixup and pressure game.

Awesome videos! I’m definitely going to give Mika a try when the game drops.

I thought Laura is the 3S Makoto of SFV

Hey folks

My first post on shoryuken.

I dont know yet who I gonna main. Ive played Mika, Chun and Gief and I`ve realized Mika fits much more with me. Please help me getting more details on her resets and combos. Bye

Welcome! Check out the link in my signature. Its a playlist I’ve put together showing off R. Mika and what she can do.

It begins. The 16ers are decending upon us. LOL jk welcome to SRK.

I appreciate it.

I been compiling stuff, but most is obsolete so I’m waiting til release so I don’t waste my time.

As long as this exist, people will stick around.

oh wait… Never mind
Regarding Sim. I think it mostly depends on what the Sim Player is trying to do.

In the neutral if he tried going for the teleport shenanigans, you could easily cr.MP that on reaction every time. If he is the patient or zoning time, then i believe that you should try to fish for a CC with F+HP or armor through with EX peach.

If he does any Yoga blast blockstring, immediately V-reversal then dash in as he is getting up to be in his face. Don’t try to to too much charged HK as he can easily slide under it.
I think you just need to get in once and YOU MUST use brimstone in this matchup, only use RT if it is about to kill. You will get in only once or twice max, so you gotta keep the pressure and make it count. Also i would like to add that F+MK does really well against him since it beats his slides.

So ways to get in are :
1- V-reversal.
2- F+HP
3- EX peach.

we need the but slap back

Why would the thread die after the game’s release? If anything it’s gonna explode like a Volcano, with dozens of new comers who may want to play Mika asking questions and seeking advice. And people might discover even more tech.

Hey guys, kinda new here and on SF. 4 was too boring for me, but 5 is looking hella fun.

What I wanna ask is: can you still link c.mp after charged hk on the irish whip reset? I like it a lot, since people see the hk and expect the full combo, not a reset.

Not normally. You can only link target combo. If it crush counters you can dash and link that combo though.

I can’t connect s.mp>s.hp after cc s.hk on a distance I feel safe to use s.hk. I rather go straight to s.hp>h peach or typhoon if I can react.
Bu what I meant is doing charged s.hk>c.mp AFTER the wall bounce.

Here is my second (and last) Rank Match Highlight of R.Mika from Beta 4.
The combo/mixup is not that different from the last one but it is 15 minutes full of R.Mika

The main exciting thing for me about this compilation is the tick throws. Particularly, 0:24, where you do a semi-midrange f+HP and still get the EX Brimstone (edit: not Brimstone, Rainbow Typhoon’s the backwards command grab), that’s making me feel more confident in her mix-up game with such a constant throw opportunity available.

Also that Wingless Airplane after cr.HP VT covers a disgusting amount of options.
