R.I.P. Dasrik. Even though we were on different sides, sad to see a fellow gamer/SRK player go.
I just want to say Rick and Joe Zaza played a large part in building the inland empire scene back in the early 2000’s. I remember back when sessions consisted of me, UCRJesse, Bill Wellman, Pigadoken, Rick, Zaza, Fuson 909, and Walter playing at UCR until the wee hours of the morning. He helped run a bunch of the large scale Riverside console tournies back in the day. Hell, i think we were the first group to hold a CvS2 tournament on console. fucking great memories. My condolences to the entire LaFaurie family, and even though Rick’s health was always an issue, he sure as fuck was one hell of a fighter. It’s still a shock to see that he’s gone.
Anywho, I’m gonna try to get in touch with some of the 951/909 peeps/Joe Zaza to see if we can get some sort of fundraising/paypal set up. RIP Dasrik. You were an asshole, but thats why I liked you so much sir.

My condolences to his family, from off the top of my head, he was one of those great posters that people keep talking about that made SRK great back in the day.

joe zaza is going to send me the full details about this later tonight. dasrik went into cardiac arrest on christmas night while in route to moreno valley community hospital. he stopped breathing for about 14 minutes, in which the brain can only go without oxygen for about 5 minutes. by the time he started breathing, he was a vegetative state, suffered brain damage and was on life support. his family was left with the grim decision to take him off of life support yesterday, 1/2/2010 at around 1:00pm PST. dasrik passed with his family surrounding him at around 2:30pm PST. his funeral is taking place this tuesday at 3pm in el monte, ca. i’ll edit this post once i receive full details from his brother, jose (aka joe zaza). please keep the lafaurie family in your thoughts as they are taking is pretty hard.
