As an observation, I feel like on some level you’re entire family must feel a little guilty…your sister for not driving, your father for not driving fast enough, you for not taking the matter seriously at first or not lobbying hard enough to keep him on life support, etc.
None of these are really rational, but I feel you might all have heavy feelings about them, beneath the surface. So as a gift to each other, I think it would be great for you all if you could talk about it and explain to each other than you don’t blame one another, and hear each other say the same.
I really don’t mean to tell you your business- even though I just did and am telling you what to do- but I hope I’m not coming across too poorly, and that you know what I actually mean.
After reading this and seeing just the quick responses, I’m extremely sorry to say that I never knew Dasrik, although as anyone can say, his reputation easily preceded him. Hearing about a death like this rocks anyone, but to see the devotion and closeness that you have, Joe, is endearing. I assure you that Rick is resting peacefully, now. No more pain.
My deepest condolences. And if I can, I’ll try and make it out there on Tuesday.

While I never really spoke to Dasrik on a person to person basis I knew he was a bright guy with a rather sharp tongue. I also knew he had health issues but was not aware however as to how bad his health struggles were or as to what actually ailed him, nor was I aware of the fact that it was potentially fatal. Knowing what I know now, I can say that his passing is bittersweet in the sense that, yes a strong individual has left family, friends and acquaintances alike never to return, but never again shall he have to endure the hardships that tried to hold him back on a daily basis.
My condolences go out to his family and friends. I’m truly sorry for your loss.
Take care Dasrik, for us this is often considered an end, for you I pray that it’s just the beginning of something amazing.

Damn, man. My brother-in-law is int he SAME predicament. On Dialysis, but really free-spirited and hates being held back by his condition. We have to keep on him to do right, but he’s getting much better about it.
This wasn’t his fault, but I had to perform mouth-to-mouth on him last Monday and basically saved his life after he went into a seizure. He went ER where they stabilized him (he was fighting like mad) and eventually diagnosed him with a bacterial blood infection he caught through his Dialysis port. He’s doing fine now and really, REALLY want’s to come home. I was going to post the experience on SRK, but I was too frazzled by it to do so.
I really hate that you lost your brother, and I can kinda sympathize with what it’s like going through having such a sick family member. :tup:
