R.I.P. Christopher Lee

To be fair, Mace Windu was awesome too.

Anyway, RIP Sir Christopher Lee. The last thing I saw him in was the final Hobbit movie, fighting off the Nazgul. Dude was a badass to the end.

RIP to a gentleman, soldier and amazing actor. I sincerely regret never having been able to meet the man. Killed Nazis, was Dracula, wielded a lightsaber. What a bad ass.

R.I.P.
Not too well versed on the metal aspect, but dude was a great actor.

I was thinking just two days ago that Christopher Lee is the only 90+ year old acting legend still alive, as Ernest Borgnine and Eli Wallach had recently died. Loved him, whether it be playing Dracula in Hammer’s horror features, the villain in the greatest Bond film ever (The Man with the Golden Gun), 70’s classics like The Wicker Man and The Three Musketeers, his underrated role in the overlooked The Magic Christian, etc, etc. Here is one of my favorite clips of the man, singing and dancing at 62 years old in an Australian exploitation superhero musical comedy;

93 great years, apparently.

I am not sure why you put wtf as a response to my post so I suppose it needs explanation. Ian Fleming was in the military with Christopher Lee, there were BFF’s, Fleming has admitted that James Bond is basically Christopher Lee.

He brought such greatness to anything that he was in.

Didn’t know anything about his metal stuff and was only aware of the guy through Count Dooku and Saruman. He did a great job in those roles though and his voice had nice gravitas to it. He seemed to have lived a great full life though. R.I.P.

If there was ever anyone you wanted to be in a metal album, it was Sir Christopher Lee.

It’s still a crazy thing to reflect on how this guy accomplished every single one of my childhood dreams by being a successful metal singer, sith lord and wizard. It’s especially sad to think what else he might have gifted us with if he had more time considering he was putting out such memorable work in his final years.

And thanks @SlayerofBodom for reminding me of Man with the Golden Gun. Completely forgot that was Lee too!

Some wish to be a Jedi or Sith
Some wish to be a Wizard
Some wish to be in a band

Christopher Lee did all three and them some!

Rest in Piece good sir.

Here’s to a man who was talented enough to accomplish so much that many only dream of doing but a mere fraction of what he did.

He is probably singing to awesome metal riffs in Valhalla right now. (Chris Lee is too bad ass to go to lame ass Heaven). RIP, you classically trained actor/metal God/Nazi killing badass.

Sir Ian McKellen posted this earlier

Don’t forget a Golden Gun!

Damn RIP

No disrespect but fassbender played a better magneto

Fun fact. Sir Christopher was the only member on the cast and crew of the Lord of the Ring’s trilogy to have actually met J. R. R. Tolkien. He also had Tolkien’s personal blessing to play Gandalf in any film version of the LoTR. Only his advanced age prevented him from doing so in Peter Jackson’s films.

Another fun fact, while filming Saruman’s death scene in Return of the King, Peter Jackson was making suggestions about how a man stabbed in the back should sound, when Sir Christopher promptly told him that he knew exactly how a man stabbed in the back sounded like. As some of you may know, not only did he fight in WW2, but he was also part of Britain’s Special Operation’s Executive aka “Churchill’s Secret Army” or the “Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare” which is probably where he gained this experience.

Wrong actor.

RIP even old as he was dude had a MEAN stare.

93 years. He made it. R.I.P.

Worth watching it:
