Getting closer and closer to finally customizing my TE and I have 1 quick question on ball tops. (I did a search but didn’t find any relevant threads on this particular subject)

Looking between a seimitsu bubbletop or a sanwa mesh top cause they both look really nice but the most important factor I’m looking for is the mold line. Which of the available btops for a sanwa JLF have the least pronouced mold line on them. The one on the stock TE sanwa top kinda annoys me. I know, a minor gripe but if I’m gonna pay the duckets to customize my stick I want to be 100% happy with it.

Found these online and was wondering if anyone has any experience with them? Seems they would fit on the sanwa as they use the standard 6mm thread. That’s the same as a JLF correct? They “claim” to be seamless and have some nice looking ones to choose from, and are also about half the price of a sanwa mesh as well.

Both the Seimitsu bubbletops and Sanwa mesh tops have a seam. Unless you’re going by feel, it’s probably hardest to casually notice on the meshtop because of the pattern, I guess, but they’re all pretty similar.

I don’t have any experience with those balltops from GroovyGameGear, but I have a couple “seamless” balltops from Paradise Arcade. They’re pretty nice, and the colors are different from the Seimitsu lineup (particularly the deep blue), but they don’t seem to be truly seamless. If you hold them up in the right lighting, you can see where the seam was smeared away. If it’s the feel of the seam you don’t like, those might work. If it has to be perfect, they aren’t.

The GGG ones might be different though, I dunno.

Only “seamless” ball tops I know of are Custom Ball tops from Sugar kane or Butteroj

Well these guys are claiming it as well, guess I’ll have to just order one in a few weeks and give some forum feedback :slight_smile:
Ive also emailed GGG in the meantime asking for more info on this particular item. Let’s see how good their customer service is as well.

Well I received a speedy reply from GGG about my question regarding them and they assured me that:

  1. They would indeed fit a sanwa JLF with no issue
  2. They are indeed seamless as advertised
  3. Can be returned with no issue whatsoever if I am not happy with the product I receive.

Seems worth trying out :slight_smile: Going to order a “Dark Crystal” top when I get around to getting my customization done. I’ll follow up with some feedback when I get it.

Mmmph that Ice pink looks delish. Might have to see about these guys, though I’m UK so no idea how much the shipping would be x_x

Also keep in mind these are “slightly” larger than a standard sanwa/siemitsu. Hard Candy tops are 36.51mm vs 35mm. Not much but some people can be picky bout these things. Least you can brag to your buddies that yours is bigger than theirs. (Okay that was bad… sorry)
