First, I simply have problems creating an offense with sent. I understand why he is such high teir and can see how high end players can control the pace of battle so easy with him, but I am not sure how to go about that myself.
When one has unfly mode, it seems like the gameplan is to take to the skies. What are some common ways to get into unfly mode? A lot of people seem to avoid even hitting me or trying to attack me while I am in the air.
Assuming I do not have unfly, my general plan while int he air is hk/fly/hk/unfly. I feel this keep pressure on the grounded opponent and is really one of my best options. Flying hps are also one of the key tooks I use as an anti air or when I predict a jump. Are these bad strats for sent while in the air? How else can I put his normals to use while in the air? How can I get the basic lk,lk,rp combo into his air game? I seem to never land 2 lks when someone is in range to get the combos going. How else can I attack, do damage, and pressure from the air?
Fastfly combos are a huge threat while in the air, yet they are extremely hard to do. I can do FF combos, but I do not yet have them down enough to where I can do them in a match. Is there an easier way to do FF? I have heard of several methods but have not tried them yet,. what are the methods to landing FF combos?
Zoning, I zone with capcom, lasers, drones, and that is basically about it. Is there anything I should know or any patterns that can help me zone?
Stomp patterns. Yes, it seems like there is a lot fo them and almost anything can work. What are some common stomp patterns with and without unfly mode?
I know a lot of these questions have been done before and are even listed on the front page. A lot of the data seems old and I never see them used. Sorry if some of these questions are a repeat.
use your jumping/flying hp’s and hk’s to predict opponent jumps and attacks. when the opponent is already in the air, thats when you want to sj. with your light attacks and connect a fast fly combo. fly, hk, unfly, fly hk is good when pressuring your opponent in the corner, master that rush and do the commands as fast as possible. use capcom to cover you during your recovery of moves you do (mouth beam, etc).
lk d/db/b lk+hk f+lk+assist hp then whichever rp you need, upward for Capcom, downward for Mag
The “f” in “f+lk+assist” means forward (joystick direction). If you finish the motion for the RP fast enough, the forward will stay in the buffer, so to speak, and you’ll get an upward punch.

On fast fly combos…
What I mean is that I have heard of diffrent ways to do fast fly. One of them is by using the assist instead of a direction. Another is the full circle method. Do these even work? I am not sure if I am landing the combos because I am actually hitting neutral and forward or because I am double tapping the assist.
Using capcom to cover sent is something pretty basic that I just did not think of. What are some other moves where capcom usually covers sent besides hp?
for some reason i’m the only person i know who likes (better yet, even believes) that the assist button works. everyone likes to stay traditional with the direction. if you’re using capcom, do this
well, i have no problem pressing 2 kicks + A1 also (had to practice a little bit) but it just seems like less room for error rather since theres only one motion of you pressing down. i damn near fast fly different every time lol, ive just accustomed myself to knowing when to do which way
the middle three. this is how i do it if i use assist one and want to press three buttons at once.
index and ring finger extended fully straight and take oyur middle finger and bend it at a 90 degree angle. naturally since your index and ring finger are a little bit different in height, they all seem to fit perectly on the buttons.
this is what i did to practice, dont even worry about the HP and RP. just practice lp lp, fly+A1, direction, Lk. if your fingers are shaped funny, i would learn the traditional way to fast fly with A1. and just do the 3 button way when using A2.
i’ve noticed that the biggest problem with me and other people fast flying is they try and do all the commands too fast. memorize the timing when you do combo it, then practice DISTINCTLY inputing the commands fly, direction, lk+assist. those are the most important commands. if you are calm and make sure you do that portion of the combo very DISTINCTLY then you’ll be set. make sure you’re POSITIVE you are flying and pressing a direction slightly before the lk (to make sure oyu cancelled the lag before you even perform a move)
oh sh*t. you got me there. i even accidentally did the FF lp lp unfly refly lp lp combo to hit… seriously im still having trouble doing fast fly combos, seems that im doing the command too fast. sigh
When I do fast fly, I press a direction and at same time press lk… and not direction slightly before the lk as you say… I tried your way and it failed…but your not wrong, I’m sure your explanation about how to cancel the lag is one of most perfect I’ve seem (if I understand, lk, fly, direction to cancel the lag, lk)… Ill try more later…
Your tips are very good, most people try to do fast fly very quickly, as just one movement. I hardly miss a fast fly in a match, and almost never in practise… I does it very calm (not too slow, but not quickly or even fast.) and it works very well, I try to explain this to my friends wich play sentinel, but they hardly listen too .
but only like twice ever have i gotten it to work i did something like launch sj.lk lp fly lk lp.
but yo its so hard when i try and think about what i have to do it never works. i’ve read that u HAVE to do
fly then put the joy stick in neutral, then tap a direction then do lk or lp.
but form what ur saying if i just do fly, and tap direction and lp or lk it will work? i will try this when i get home, and im probably going to use storm/sent/doom so i cant really use the A2 or A1 method to fast fly. i wanna learn how to do it without any asists anyways. and what is the hole point of doing fast fly if ur just going to do one rocket punch? cuz u can do launch sj. lp lk mp (slight pause for mp animation to finish) mk rocket punch which does 66 damage.
so how do i do more than 66 damage with a fast fly. ive tried to fool around with it and ive noticed that if ur in fly and do a rocket punch it doesnt send the opponent flying so u can combo another lk mk rocket punch or something. i wanna learn how to do this evenutally
While Sentinel may not have a practical infinite, he has a couple of semi-infinites. Both options require unfly mode.
s.HK /\ sj.LK -> [ff.LK-HP, unfly, LK]xN
The above sequence can be done for about 3-4 reps.
Charlie Goblyn (pioneer of the unblockable) found this sequence. While it is incredibly difficult to do (based on precise timing that differs between every char), it can be done repeatedly for over 20 hits.
