First, as Satek stated, there will be finished Sanwa cases ready to go this week. So keep an eye out for those.
Second, we have decided to sell the second of our prototype cases. Like the first one this is a test case, so it’s being sold as ‘scratch and dent’. For all of the details please see the purchase page here:
Also, just a note; the variations in color between the pictures are due to the lighting when the pictures were taken. There aren’t any issues with the color being off, aside from the curved edges being slightly darker, which is typical for the cut edges on wood.
Finally, later this week when the new cases are added, we will also be adding padhacking services.
Just a quick question… Is there by any chance a way to ship out a DIY without the button holes/joystick hole drilled in yet? I’ve had an idea going back a forth in my head right now that i cant put a finger on but i do need an absolutely blank case to work with.
Pretty much a basic HAPP model without the holes drilled in if thats understandable.
HAPP/iL, no pre-drilled holes, Hybrid edges. would this drop the cost compared to having the holes drilled in?
So far I would recommend the height of the Japanese boxes to be a little higher. The prototype box I bought was too small to fit a dual mod set up so I thought of putting the cthulu board on the inside rim of the box instead of being under the buttons but it was too short. The box I have is 4cm high (from the inside height). The Cthulu is 4.6cm wide. I am very satisfied with the quality and construction of these boxes. Highly recommended.
Hi, we actually have one of those in stock since the previous buyer backed out of the transaction. We drop the price on these by $5.
Thanks for the recommendation and compliments. We have actually increased the side by .25" so the total height is now 2.5" versus the old 2.25". Sorry that it doesn’t fit. Reminder: these boxes are really small.
Regarding that box, do you happen to have pictures of it by chance and is it blank with no dremeled holes? I just need a solid case to work with from this point future project that is.
What are the chances that you guys offer a vewlix layout (6 or 8 like the TE, wouldnt mind either), sanwa/semitsu DIY case?
i need a second stick for when friends go over, and I would like as close as possible to my TE stick minus the TE price. if you ever make those ill definetly be interested in one.
otherwise thumbs up for the affordable price and simple yet nice design
Do you know when the “prototype” layout will go on sale as a normal product?
Is there a pre-cut indent in the back of the cases for the wire to come out? I didn’t see anything in the pictures and I’d hate to cut into the gorgeous work you’ve done with the staining.
Do you include nuts/washers for the mounting bolts? If not, what size/thread are the bolts?
Yes we can ship to Canada, but you would have to pay the extra shipping costs.
We are not going to make the prototype box anymore. It only allows us to have a support post in the middle between the back button. With the 3 buttons centered, we can have the support posts on the 2 corners.
Sorry, there is no pre-cut indent. We leave that up to the buyer since the buyer may be building a wireless or wired box.
Yes, we include nuts and bolts, but not washers. The size is #10 according to home depot. These will mount on each corner of the mounting plate of the Sanwa Joystick.
Great, thanks for the info! Any chance the currently available Sanwa stuff can be countersunk for flat top bolts, or is that something I’d have to do? Not a deal breaker, just curious if I can save some time
I remember a previous post about the MDF cases being 4CM tall (too small for the cthulu board sideways), are the Sanwa cases the same size?
Just a note about this. The bottom panel on the cases are a thinner piece of MDF. You can easily put a hole in this without having to touch anything that has been stained.
Hey guys I’m just wondering if you know what size screw I need to install a HAPP/iL competition stick in your cases. I have an older version, but the screw size should be the same.
I believe on my last stick I used #10 flat machine bolts (about 1 1/2" in length).
But honestly there are a lot of bolts/nuts you can use. You can use a carraige bolt if you prefer to have a round top, for example.
If you got to your local hardware store and just make sure you get one that’s long enough to fit beyond the mounting plate on the stick and secure on the other side with a bolt.
