My dumbass friend (Swift), plays Chun-Li SA I cause “Its faster”. What a retard, its not like its red or anything… (warhammer40k thing)

doesnt her sa1 come out faster than sa2? sa1 is still pretty good, and gives chun an anti air.

ye a friend of mine always played SA1 till a certain point dunno if he does but when he had me in the corner and i jumped, he would just jab me and then SA1… i tried to parry the shit but 1 hits is just too much X_x

Right, but against good players? I tried it out against one of the better players here a few days ago and it worked the first time but it seemed like the sort of thing I shouldn’t use very often. I’m no longer playing this game seriously, but just for my own edification, isn’t it a bit too risky to try against someone good or in a tournament?

Of course going straight into EX slaps on a guess is dangerous. That’s why Streak said he does it on scrubs that don’t even know to jump until he tells them. Against a good opponent, the best thing to do if you expect a jump is either normal slaps (strong will cover you if they block or jump, though fierce will net you more damage if they do jump), or nothing at all. Low RH is fantastic at getting a knockdown and will trade with a lot of things that will beat the slaps clean (like DPs) but it’s not safe if blocked.

RED WUNZ GO FASTA!

N - I can’t believe I know that.

When you’re a champion mind reader like me, you just know when your opponent is terrified of the C&DB, and you get free EX slaps. You can see me get it against MikeLai in the casual austin matches on KaraThrow. Q’s the only character where it’s “okay” to do crazy stuff like random EX Slaps or random super. Why? Because of the taunts, if I have 3 taunts, I like to go for crazy stuff that’s big damage but also big risk, because nothing they can do is gonna hurt me that much. Or course it all depends on your current taunt situation and how much life you have, and how much super meter your opponent has.

Streak I misconstrued your first reply to mean using frequent EX slaps was a good idea, so I guess that’s why I was surprised. Yeah, I saw you hit MikeLai with it. That was pretty sweet.

What about the efficacy of crouching fierce instead of crouching roundhouse or slappy in that sort of situation? I don’t have my Dreamcast with me nowadays so I can’t test anything out. I see from KaraThrow that the frame advantage for a blocked low fierce is considerably more reasonable than that of a low roundhouse (-3 compared with -25) and the damage is only 10 points less, but does it have similar priority? I’m trying to find a way to use each of Q’s moves hehe. I think crouching and standing neutral fierce and crouching forward are the only moves I never use.

Well, you’re missing out something. Sometimes it’s not about frames, it’s about how the move performs. Q’s cr.roundhouse may have horrible recovery, but it is an excellent move to screw them up if they predict C&DB and jumps. It can easily hit airborne opponents and, as it said earlier, it beats out or trades lots of moves, which is usually in Q’s favour.

Oh and, Remy is the most broken character!! Too many fireballs and that arc kick thingy!

that move is called the ultimate furious flying mad monkey kick

C. Fierce is an okay move, but it lacks the one thing that c. RH, EX Slaps, or Anti Jump regular slaps has: The knockdown. This is obviuosly the biggest part of Q’s corner game is repeatedly knocking down his opponent in the corner. Also C. Fierce pushes Q pretty far away, which will allow your prey to super jump out of the corner.
