Starting Tuesday, August 26th we will begin our new season of Weekly Fight Night competitions. Instead of 1 night of tournaments, we will be introducing 2 new Championship Points races in addition to the regular Tuesday Fight Nights. The new format for all 3 series includes an entry fee that will go towards a season ending prize money to be split up among the top players. The season will start 2 weeks from now and continue on until its conclusion at Showdown Championships 2009, April 10-12, 2009. Here are the following formats, dates, and games for each series.

It should also be noted that we will be keeping a stricter upholding of time. Now that school is starting back, we need to be even more on time with our events. Sunday?s and Thursday?s Points Races especially need to keep on time. We will be starting each weekly at exactly 8:30PM. Signups will begin at 7:30PM. For Sunday and Thursday you need to be present to draw your seeding for the tournament, as well as determine who has the bounty on their head. If you are not able to draw, then you will not be allowed to enter the tournament. Late entries will NOT be allowed under any circumstances.
Players for each weekly will be randomly seeded for the tournaments. Sundays and Thursdays players will draw their own seeding and determine if there will be a bounty on their head for the tournament. Players can ?cash in? on the bounty by knocking that player out of the tournament. If the player with the bounty is not eliminated, then the bounty is increased the following week.
This will most likely push the scrubs out of the tourny. No one wants to pay $2 PER game + pay per play just to get their ass whooped. At least I wouldn’t.
I’d rather pay $5 for entry, free play, pay for casuals when tourny is over.
Also, what’s the reason dividing the pot between 8 / 10 people? Doesn’t seem like a lot when you break it down.
Its something different we’re trying to do. The $5 weeklies for SF4 and T6 will have raffles and prizes going on each week. Meanwhile weeklies on Tuesday will shorten the brackets to those that concentrate on their specific games. As for the payouts to the top 8-10 players rather than the top 3 is to try and spread out the prizes to accomodate more players and hopefully keep them interested throughout instead of bowing out knowing the top 3 is out of reach.
