It’s possible. I suggest changing your configuration and get really really cozy. You can’t think of it as the regular buttons but give into juri completely with that configuration.
I do a lot of stuff I can’t do on a pad. Plink, double tap, fuhaswap, Kara store, Kara focus, and just all around fireball holding. My corner pressure is heavy on fireballs so I try and use 2 when I can. My dizzy combo is a 2 fireball combo. Just all around easier and less to worry about with a stick.
With that being said I worked my ass off to get the coordination I have now. I don’t think I could do it on a pad. That’s just me.
ugh how do I fight Fei Long? What can I punish, please tell me arcade version what is punishable (like his specials) because my Live is up in a few days but I will renew for certain come AE.
edit: well, I guess I will go check out what is punishable in SSF4 in case I find time to do offline and I run into a Fei… but what about AE? Didn’t they give him even more frame advantage on stuff when it’s blocked?
This is SSF4, but you can get an idea of what I need work with:

I think you did alright, my advise is bait and anticipate his chicken wings then punish the hell out of him for it. You can stop it with a well timed c.hp but a much bigger ( and safer) punish is do a vertical jump hk - c.mk - hk pin wheel. Thats gonna take a good amount of health from him each time you nail it. A good way to bait it is throwing lk fuhajins from the range where chicken wing is his only way to get in fast and “safe”

You’re money range is right our of range of rekka. Learn the range. As soon as you see it, walk back and punish. I st.mk. I could punish harder.
Be ready. See a chicken wing? Punish. Force him back and hold your ground. Don’t let him push you back.
It’s tough to push him forward bi dash up throw often. Corner him and he can’t so anything to get out as long as you can hold your ground.
Neutral jumps and careful fuhajins. It’s not a zoning job. It’s Just flat out staying steady.
J hp to bait reversals. Beats them or makes them whiff. Just some things I do to win this match

Thanks oynx for the tip on how to beat chicken wing, I’ll try that out.
Kail I’ll try out j hp, I need to use that move more anyways.
Which chicken wings can I punish on block on AE? What about that move when he thrusts foward chip is annoying…

First and foremost the fei long fight is a game where Juri does not win footsies. Don’t try it unless you make a good read or have the guy wenching from a barrage of attacks. You tried to go toe to toe with him alot. Most if not all of his safe moves come out quicker, have more priority, and sets him up for his bnb combo. Fei long hurts, a lot, taking any sort of hit from him is a no no. I usually like to play the match as lame as possible. Kail’s right on chicken wing. When you’re halfway across screen he’s going to chicken wing to get in. Jumpin in means he gets a fireball or an AA. move forward a fireball or whatever poke you like to use. But 8/10 he’ll chicken wing on you. Another thing i noticed was fei was in on you hard. =\ if that happens it’s hard to push him away from you since all of his moves stuff yours. At that point i spam far standing lk it’ll stop some of his moves, it trades with rekka (a shitty trade for Juri) and chicken wing eats it. Some food for thought…rekka can be focused and we can use our dodge move to get away from it. Same with the ultra and his super. So if you find yourself cornered and getting rekka spammed try to use that to get out. Other then that, practice with fei in the lab and see what you can do to stuff his movement and try to learn what he can do to stop you. Good luck!
Thought i toss in a few vids of Juri vs. Fei before i head to zzz.

I also suggest really turning your eye on in the corner both on offense and defense. The match is won and lost here imo.
A suggestion of mine is to block often and look for an opening to kasatushi out or dive kick out.
Personally I like to wait for rekka pressure and kasatushi behind him to turn the pressure around. If he’s at a distance I’ll try and dive kick out. I try and stay out of throw range. I might get punished but better than being stuck.
Fei has no answer for escaping the corner other than chicken wing and getting a reversal. Keep him there. You really gotta watch his reversals and know your opponent. Kyo baby.
You have to get as much info as you can. I play a fei long that gets random chicken wings because he knows he can’t do it vs me unless it’s a time where he shouldn’t do it. My reactions to it is good… So he has to do it when I least expect.
I still like fse for this match.
Beginning of round 2 - You’re intimidated and immediatly start crouching blocking. You can’t let Fei apply pressure on you like that.
Don’t be scared to start off a round by trowing a mid ex fuhajin, far st.hk or neutral jump. Also, a simple sweep would have gotten you a knockdown vs those Rekkas.
A well spaced level 1 focus attack can give you a free crumple vs Rekkas.
If you see him focus attack: throw if you’re up close. ex fuhajin/ex pinwheel if he’s around sweep range. Or just neutral jump so he has to cancel forward or backward. If he dashes, you can nj.hk. If he backdashes or keeps charging, you can hk dive kick him.
Fei Long has to respect Juri’s neutral jump. Why? Neutral jump can beat chicken wing, rekka and focus attack. It’s as simple as that. But you have to know when to jump and at what distance. (I’d say jumping/far range is ideal)
Poke using cr.mp, cr.mk, far st.mk and far st.hk.
Treat his overhead like a jumping attack: anti-air it using cr.mp.
And like Kail said, you don’t really zone vs Fei. Fuhajins are more used to bait his CWs.

Part 3 is on its way. These matches were all just wreckless and all about pressure. Had a lot of fun. Like, subscribe, Critique…whatever…
I have a vid that took an hour to upload =
Anyway it’s of me fighting ibuki on my friends account i have more vids but they’ll take a while to get up

Enjoy. I’ll post up the fei beat down and some other nice stuff for ya’ll!
0:31 - a lk pinwheel reversal on wake up? What were you thinking lol. Never do that again please.
0:39, 0:44, 1:26 and 1:32 - That’s something you’ll really have to work on. Your hit confirms! You hit. Then instead of finishing your links or keeping decent pressure/traps you decide to do something like jumping or random unsafe poke! Use cr.lk, st.lk, cr.lk or cr.lp, st.lk, cr.mp/cr.mk.
0:46 - You know Sekku is only like +2 on hit right? Seems to me like you actually tried dashing or using senpusha after a Sekku. That’s really not a good idea. Yes you have frame advantage on hit, but it’s only +2 so use that to frame trap.
1:20 - another mistake. Even though it worked for you. Still was a bad bad bad decision. You’re just lucky Ibuki didn’t block or stuff it with anything at all.
1:22 - waste of meter. I guess you thought your opponent was going to technical wake up but he didn’t. So make sure your opponent wakes up before throwing random fireballs. I gotta admit this happens to me sometimes. I always assume my opponent is smart/skilled enough to fast wake up every time.
1:33 - You don’t even finish your combo. End it with fuhajin store next time. It’s safe on block and might get you a knockdown on hit.
Best advice I can give you: Stop playing so god damn random lol. Finish your links and hit confirms. End your strings with Fuhajin store. Work on your frame traps and mix ups. Try to stay more grounded.
Thanks for the feedback! I played that first match so dry in the first round. I jump when i get nervous, a lot. Ibuki coulda close that match out if she kept up the pressure. I was lucky that first round, that’s all i can say. I’m been in the lab as of late working on finishing combos on my basic links. I will use this advice though to the fullest in the quest to level up my Juri.

You gotta think about the options of the matchup. Ibuki can’t do anything far except kunai. Watch for them, and throw lows while holding a high always. Hold a high, store low and release lows. See a jump, throw the high, store high.
Once you get the kd, do as you did. J hp. Takes care of almost all her options. Once in try and hit confirm to a pinwheel. If block, throw. Tech? Then next time do exactly as you did but c.mp xx store or sc.mk xx store.
At mid range hold db. Ibuki can’t jump, but Footsie. She can’t keep up.
Remember. Watch her body. Not the kunai. That’s how you block her mix up.
what makes you think he won’t be able to?
Ill add that you can use focus attack on the last hit of chicken wing, so if he does it from far you have options.

You could… Wouldn’t suggest it though. Risky as hell
